Looking for tasty Mee Siam? Have you tried A Rashid Khan? This stall is famous for its Mee Siam and Mutton Soup recommended by my Muslim pals. Having tried its original plate of mee siam (costs $3) last year, I had upgraded by recent purchases by adding mutton cubes on the tasty meal. The bee hoon came in good bright orange color which were soft and soaked in the sweet soury Mee Siam gravy. Though it had chilli paste added, it was not that spicy as one would have thought. In addition, the gravy has hints of peanut fragrant.Visit http://www.umakemehungry.com/2014/02/a-rashid-khan.htmlI love the tangy taste of the gravy and the chewy mutton meat added with not too strong "mutton" smell. What's more, instead of the usual half half boil egg or none we got from a plate of mee siam, A Rashid Khan had 1 placed on each serving. So far this is one of better mee siam that i had ever encountered. continue reading

I went to Ayer Rajah Food Centre again, this time I wanted to try the Indian Style Mee siam. The Mee siam was not cheap at $3 per plate. The taste of Mee Siam was different as compared to Chinese or Malay Mee Siam. The gravy was more thick, more peanut, mild spicy and less sourish. The bee hoon used was finer type whereby they absorbed   more gravy in between bee hoon. There was some taupok given but too little to give the mee siam a taste of different. continue reading
