The buns here are really cheap! They sell at less than 1 dollar for each bun. I bought the custard bun at 0.90 and it was super worth it. It was filled with so much custard that it started flowing out of the bun! The custard tasted good and it was a little salty but mostly sweet smile continue reading

Full Baker Talent review here: http://ivanteh-runningman.blogspot.sg/2014/01/baker-talent.htmlBaker Talent is an unassuming shop tucked away in the Serangoon Central heartlands, that is hugely popular for its soft, fluffy, buttery buns, which are freshly baked all day.As a takeaway stand, Baker Talent doesn't have any seating. But their colouful and bright posters and banners around the store stand out and draw attention, as does their large display case where all the baked goods are displayed. Walk past, and the fragrant buttery aroma from Baker Talent entices you to go over.Service at Baker Talent is fast, efficient, and business-like. While long queues are a given, they are cleared very quickly by the hard-working staff at Baker Talent. Staff also take pride in producing several quantities of fresh bread daily, and because of high turnover, you are assured of getting a fresh batch of buns. The menu at Baker Talent is limited, with a range of only 12 different items. But each is decadent, with large amounts of butter and sugar, making each bite so sinful, yet lovely. The bread made at Baker Talent is soft and fluffy, and tears away easily. Unhealthy, but it's a nice treat! The Butter Boom is the signature bun here, filled with large amounts of melted butter, which goes well with the softness of the bread. The topping of sugar gives it a satisfying crunch.Love the smooth cream cheese filling of the Lemon Cheese Bun, and the little bit of lemon zest that gives it a nice zing. The Mango Cheese Bun has benn infused with sweet mango flavour, and while it also has that decadent cream cheese filling, it only has a small cube of actual mango fruit studded on top. continue reading

I heard about this bakery and travelled all the way down to serangoon to buy them to try, because it was the closest store to me. The time travelled was worth it. I went down there at 10 and the golden sands bun were SOLD OUT! I ordered other breads like the char siew bun, custard bun and stuff, while waiting for this legendary golden sands bread. 2 ladies in front of me ordered 20 of them each! Now, you can imagine how popular it is! There was a wide selection of breads in this bakery and at a really low price too, ranging from $0.70 to $1. I don't think I saw any that were more than a dollar! Not too sure though but EVERYTHING IS CHEAP. The golden sands bun was worth the wait! Have them hot, and it tastes divine! You've got to try them! continue reading

Whenever I see this bakery, I will make it a point to buy bread from them. First of all, it's very difficult to find bread under $1. Event those neighbourhood bakeries are not that good price anymore. Today I bought their custard (liu sha) bread. The bread is soft, light, fluffy and fragrant. The golden custard that flows out of the bread was delish, smooth and super tasty. You have got to try their bread if you see this bakery. Each custard bread is $0.90. Where to find! continue reading

I was going to the Kopitiam nearby for dinner, while walking past this bread store, I was attracted by their kopi bread smell, so I went to queue up and buy. Their breads are very cheap, a butter bread which cost only $0.65. They have quite a few breads to choose from, but while in the queue, I saw people mostly ordered their polo bread, kopi bread and butter bread. I bought over 10pieces and it costs only $7.40! Their butter bread was very nice, bread texture was soft, full of generous fillings inside. The kopi bread also did not disappoint me. The queue was long, but they were quite fast, so only spend about 5-10mins queuing. continue reading
