went down to try with friend after singing k next door. this place is always packed with people during dinner time. there are quite a few type of soup base to choose from but we gotten the chicken soup. the variety of dishes to choose from are ok but we somehow have to fight with people to get our food because the people there are so not civilised. the place itself is quite dirty and cramp too so i think go for quick dinner is ok but not stay for a long time continue reading

For soup base, we ordered the yuan yang pot comprising of chicken and mala. Although the mala is not as spicy as some other steamboat I had tried, I thought it's good enough. There is a wide spread of many variety of raw produce to choose from. Saw cooked food but we didn't try. The buffet steamboat comes with free flow of drinks. Service wasn't that fantastic though. We had to ask twice for a ladle to be changed. We took the seat at the basement and it was hot and stuffy. They could maybe lower the aircon more especially when it's crowded. continue reading

Chuan yi pin is located opposite bugis junction, along the road side. It offers grill and steamboat and can acommodate large groups (We had 20). Its really a DIY steamboat and grill because they don't marinate the meat but they provide you with a variety of sauces for you to mix and then marinate your meat before grilling it. We tried mixing all types of chilli and garlic and then grilling fish and mushrooms with the mix on top - not a bad combination. As for drinks - they offer many types of soft drinks though we weren't sure root beer came out as water! Service was generally prompt, our gas went out twice during the dinner and the waiter was very helpful and efficient. HOwever, the chef at the buffet counter slicing the meat for us was very bad tempered and while i was at the counter, he scolded almost everybody around us! continue reading

i came across this steamboat restaurant while on my hunt for mala steamboat. i decided to give it a try. they have a wide spread of dishes for u to take. they have crabs, prawns all the usual steamboat dishes. however, some of the crab arent really fresh as they had a bad smell so u must be careful with those u pick, u dun wan to end up with a tummyache.the sliced beef was really awesome, thinly sliced. instead of slicing beforehand, when u go to the counter, they will slice their beef chunk in front of u.the mala soup base is really hot and awesome, goes really well with the sliced beef and all the other ingredients. however if u are not the spicy kind of pple, there are other non spicy soup for u to order.the drinks are free flow unlike the last time i had steamboat buffet at another restaurant. the fruits are rather fresh too!great place if u are into mala sichuan soup! continue reading
