I had horfun for supper. Apparently this stall is quite famous with three outlets around Singapore. Their horfun tasted normal but yummy. There wasn't really a burnt taste and the sauce over it was not too salty. There was a good mixture of ingredients including prawns, sliced fish and pork, sotong and eggs. The sliced fish pieces and prawns were fresh. It was a savoury supper! continue reading

I always wonder in a small hawker centre and located at suburban place, this stall has 3 cooks, 2~3 kitchen assistances, 5~6 orders taking ladies, it seems they are popular to eaters. They have totally 3 stalls under the same brand, located in West Coast, Ghim Moh and Tiong Bahru. As the Tiong Bahru stall is right at my work place, I would have it from time to time, especial rainy days.Sweet and sour pork is my all times favourite if I have to eat rice for a simple meal. Sweet and sour tastes always liven up my palate. They mix the sauce with a good balance of sweetness and sourness that is really easy to go with rice. Pork batter isn’t too thick or thin, deep fried till crispy outside and tender inside, as we know pork is always parboil at all these food stalls so I won’t expect it will be succulent after deep fried. As long as taste right, it is fine for a few dollars meal. Side veggie contains red capsicum, cucumber, onion and fresh pineapple cubes.Whereas rice has forgotten today as it isn’t cook fully, obviously water hasn’t absorbed fully then they serve it. I have half of the bowl is too dry and hard and have half cooked rice. I can’t eat semi raw rice, it will upset my gastric!I hardly taste msg in their food. They may have but it isn’t too much though. continue reading
