I grew up in Teckwhye. Teckwhye market was a wide variety of food! Popiah is a must for starter, especially when they take so long to prepare your food (the queue is always longggggg). The popiah was generously warped with turnip, boiled egg, bean sprout! The popiah skin wasnt thick at all, and yet it doesnt break! A must try dish over at this coffee house at Teckwhye! continue reading

i took away the popiah for tea time snack. The popiah was really good. when the lady handed to me, it was piping hot. The popiah skin was not too thick yet it does not tear easily. The filling inside was very juicy. they cooked it till very tasty. she added a little chilli into the popiah, but the chilli is not too spicy. The chilli sauce went well with the sweet sauce, made the popiah taste nicer. continue reading

I took away a popiah from this very stall for the first time right after lunch. I usually requested not to have it cut when taking away as it is always easier to eat it this way. The usual ingredients like turnips, boiled egg, bean sprouts and vegetable are wrapped firmly in a soft skin. The skin tasted handmade as it has got a nice chewiness. I requested for an extra amount of chilli to be added and it enhanced the overall taste nicely. continue reading
