I had thought it to be a normal economic rice stall but this stall actually sells vegetarian economic rice. They also have beehoons and noodles if do not want rice. For an affordable $2.30 there is one rice and your choice of 3 dishes. Due to the affordable pricing, there is mostly a queue here. Although price is cheap, taste is not compromised here,my mock chicken meat tasted like real chicken and is very yummy. continue reading

Lengthy queue formed upon our arrival, obvious evidence to tell it had good food with cheap price. Stuffy environment at this hawker centre, finding a seat was a difficult task too. Yet we were here to find out excellent economy vegan food. Ladyboss acted quickly and accurately, she handled the stall very well.Instead of rice, I ordered fried kway teow and noodles. Only available during day time, there were no noodles anymore in late afternoon or evening. Crispy fried dough, chilli sambal was appetizing also. Hardly imagine it was purely vegetarian, taste as if normal eatery. Price was very inexpensive, $2.00 for mine. continue reading

Went over to Albert Centre Market for lunch today and tried the Vegetarian stall here. It has quite a queue possibly drawn by the super cheap prices. Three Vegetables + Rice/Vermicelli/Kway Teow for $2.30. There is also curry sauces to drizzle over the rice for extra flavour. The curry is quite spicy in my opinion, spicier than the usual level. The psuedo meat thing was really processed food and it turned me off after two bites. Maybe I am not used to the vegetarian pseudo meat dish but it really is quite awful. The potatoes that come with the curry is very well done, very soft and flavoursome it was almost like mashed potato in cube shapes. It would have been better if they peeled off the skin first though. Overall it isn't very nice to eat but well, definitely cheaper than other stalls for the same amount of food. Don't really like the environment here, it's super messy and the clearing of plates and tables is super inefficient, rude and haphazard! Would go over to Bugis+ or Bugis Junction any day, this is definitely my last time here. continue reading

A decent place for some economical rice if you are craving for some vegetarian ones. The rice is not fragrant and the texture is a little tough to chew. The dishes, on the other hand, taste pretty decent. The brinjal was average, but the tofu and mock black pepper chicken tastes really nice. continue reading
