Where better to experience the Christmas ambience better in Singapore this year, if not IndoChine @ Supertree Grove? We took the elevator all the way up to level 16 (rooftop level) and were immediately greeted with the cool touch of breezes and magnificent views overlooking seas and the Marina Bay Sands areas. We could hear the carolers in the background, and service here was impeccable. We reached around 6.45am where the skies were slowly darkening, and we watched the moon forming over the gentle seas. The views were more and more becoming as the night drew deeper. We started with Hand-pounded Papaya Salad (SGD$18.00), made up of green papaya hand-pounded with dried shrimps, Asian spices, greens and Laotian dressing. We also spotted peanuts, carrot strips and tomatoes in the mix. The salad was refreshing, tangy and zesty all at once, making it very delicious and appetite whetting. The nuts added crunch to the salad. We then had the Crispy Lychee with Kurobuta Pork Loin and Bacon (SGD$24.00) - crispy lychee wrapped with kurobuta pork loin and apple-smoked bacon; served dressed with mayonnaise and ebikko. These dainty items were served on spoons; we loved the luscious, crispy exterior that paved the way to the tender pork within. The lychee aroma was rather distinctive, perfect for us both lychee lovers. For full review and more detailed information, please feel free to visit:http://thearcticstar.blogspot.sg/2015/12/christmas-at-indochine-rooftop-bar.html  continue reading

Magical Night at Supertree Groves serenaded by flamboyant lights and bejewelled giant trees. As we were walking towards Supertree Indochine along the supertree grove @ Gardens by the Bay, we were entertained by a stage of spectacular lights and sounds.Indeed a sweeping orchestra soundtrack suddenly filled the air and the lights dances to the rhythm of the music. What a way to enjoy great views at Indochine Supertree.Chilling out to new heights with unforgettable bistro experience at 50 metres high on top of the tallest Supertree. If you are looking for city night lights or even watch the sunset, this is a place not to be missed because you are sitting at the rooftop directly across Marina Bay Sands. Please note seats are fully booked by 7.45 pm. It is advisable to go early for good seats at the rooftop. By the way its free seating. We managed to sit right in front of MBS.For non diners we had to pay $18 for admission to the rooftop with a complimentary drink. An option to choose either soft or alcoholic drink.A photo says a thousand words. For more photos click:http://flofoodventure.wordpress.com/2014/04/17/magical-moments-at-supertree-indochine-rooftop/ continue reading

I was lucky enough to try out this restaurant atop one of the supertrees at Gardens by the Bay. The night I dropped by, they were having a special cheese and wine event. Need I mention that it was packed.. mostly with expats who, I guess, miss the wine and cheese from their countries. There were about 5 types of cheese there and 4 different wine labels to pair with each other. There were also a few snacks if you needed to take a break from eating cheese. Hmm. What I can say about the cheese - well, there weren't really a lot of choices. It seemed like a section in one of the buffets with a cheese spread. Although, I enjoyed trying out all of them. The wines tasted very potent and was at their best. Went well with the cheese. good. But I would have to say that the view was the one which really captured my attention (not the food and drinks). It was the best vantage point to see the MBS hotel, flyer, etc. It's definitely a place to a break away from the city... continue reading

We were visiting the Tulipmania event at the Gardens by the Bay and decided to rest our feets after 4 hours of walking. The restaurant is having a Happy hour promo during off peak hour that include a non-alcohol drink at $10. We bought the Happy hour tickets and took a lift to the Treetop restaurant. I ordered a mango juice while my friends had coffee. The drinks were alright...I think we are paying mainly for the panoramic view I guess. We browsed their food menu and found that they served mainly asian dishes that are pretty pricey. I don't recommend this place for people who are looking for cheap and good eats.Check my blog for more pics..http://midas400.blogspot.sg/2013/05/gardens-by-bay-part-3-ocbc-skyway.html continue reading
