Me and a couple of friends decided to have supper the night before. And obviously, we decided on prata! Prata is a really good midnight snack. I ordered the egg plaster which is one of my favourite pratas. The egg is freshly cooked and plastered on the ouside, hence the name. Yummy! Though it is slightly oily, we all really enjoyed it For this, I paid about $2, not too bad. continue reading

This place is nicely tucked a the corner of a HDB flat. Their business seemed a tad slow serving mainly their regular customers. We went during lunch. We were presented with menu immediately upon seated down. We ordered the egg prata and murtabak with chicken filling. The prata served first with curry sauce. We could tell that the pratas were prepared upon order as it served hot and crispy. The murtabak served right after. It was quite a big piece with generous filling of curry chicken meat. Both go well with the curry sauce. continue reading

This is a memorable dinning moment for me because after walked past this cafe more than a dozen times, we finally gotten to try it. It is an indian muslim cafe that served different types of roti prata and murtabak as well as dishes like mee goreng. It was a really hot day so i skipped my coffee to order a bandung drink ($1.30). We ordered 2 pieces of plain prata ($1.80) together with a small portion of Chicken Murtabak ($5.00) to share with my partner. The bandung drink came first. I took a sip and i liked it, it tasted a little too sweet but i find it to be acceptable though not advisable to drink it too often. The next up came the 2 pieces of plain prata and the curry gravy. The 2 pieces of prata were made upon order as it served hot and crispy. Such effort is worth commendable. The Chicken Murtabak came last. Though we ordered the small portion but it was good enough to fill a hungry stomach. The outer layer was nicely crispy with generous filling of curry tasting chicken and onion. The curry gravy complemented it really well. We enjoyed the foods here and would most likely come back for more. continue reading
