Dumpling
Smile 2011-05-01

Tian Jin Fong Kee ( Chinatown )
My personal long time favourite. I have been patronising during the days when I was only a few years old and till todate, the taste has not change and still maintained as authentic as what it has been for the last 25 years...

Serving dumplings in boiled and deep fried mode, the fillings are generous with absolute flavorful taste that will detonate your mind away. The fragrance of the chives, the freshness on the pork and the thin dumplings that packed all juices will take you to new grounds.

For those that wish for authentic dumpling taste and texture...Fong Kee is the one!

Marché ( Telok Blangah )
Our hunt for great dessert has never taken a step back and we were sure that we are spot on @ Marche!

Their house crepes are actually one of the best that we have ever tried. With almonds bits, fresh strawberry, chocolate chips, icing sugar, caramel and bananas this heavenly combinations will satisfy our thirst of dessert! Not forgetting on the Movenpick ice cream that adds the finishing touch to this dessert.

Another must try should you be visiting Marche!

1-Caramel ( Dhoby Ghaut )
Wonder where is this outlet? Guess most will get it right if you are a frequent patron to Cathay @ Orchard Road.

This dessert bar is situated right beside the popular cinema hotspot. Serving delicate dessert menu, this joint will pump you up with a heavy dose of sweetness. My personal favourite is the brownie that will never go wrong on your date as it just melt both of our hearts!

We love this dessert to the max and for those that always walk pass with a peekaboo, its time that you pay a visit to this dessert bar as you will melt!

Chicken Rice
Smile 2011-04-30

Thien Kee Steamboat ( Beach Road )
A long history that pegged against this name of famous steamboat and chicken rice joint, Thien Kee Steamboat is another testament to food legend.

With at least 8 shop space all around the main portion, you will know why is there a necessity to have this scale of setup. You will most probably be waiting for a table during the peak period. This is the usual scene and sight thus you must be prepared to wait for your table.

For all chicken rice lovers, an attempt must be made with their generous and robust serving, never give a miss on their chilli sauce!

Forty Hands ( Tiong Bahru )
Forty Hands...as the name may sound is not something fanciful but a cosy cafe outlet that is nicely tucked in the mist of the oldest estate in Singapore!

A miniature joint that are usually packed on almost every morning, they have embarked to create more space on their current unit and an extension to accomodate on the overwhelming crowd.

Great coffee and breakfast set are always available and do give their Tau Sau Par a try. A unique offering of traditional taste in a western cafe!

Highly recommended!

Xi Men Ding Taiwan Cuisine ( Telok Blangah )
Ringgggg.......

Hearing the name of this restaurant brought back memories of my trip to Taipei with my beloved gF. Promising to serve authentic Taiwan local food, we decide to give this a try.
Unfortunately, not the best and closest taste of Taiwan that we had or anticipated, however its still a thumbs up for them on their service attitude and cleanliness.

For those who has yet to land their taste bud on authentic Taiwan food, this outlet may be a decent start to it!

Noodle House Ken ( Dhoby Ghaut )
One of my regular ramen joint when my stomach start tinkling the bells of desire. Noodle House Ken will always be the first on my list.

A usual double up eggs order on my beloved gF ramen, a bowl of Char Siew or Fish Roe Rice lastly with their house Gyoza would pretty much satisfy our 2 glutton hunger! Love the consistency of their soup base which is light but mesmerising. Char Siew are well cooked and their Gyoza are pan fried with touch of passion. Love the inner fillings.

A cosy outlet that will warm all, have a go @ Noodle House Ken!

Da Lian Noodle
Smile 2011-04-30

Da Lian Traditional Noodle ( Balestier )
One of a household noodle house name, Da Lian Traditional Noodle is a place not to be missed.

Highly recommended to have this to start off your day, this noodle is unpretentious. The unique touch on this noodle preparation would pretty much be seen on the presentation. The noodle will be nicely blended with their in-house sauce that will open up any glutton's appetite.

Ingredients are all freshly prepared and paired extremely well with the noodle. The most important aspect of a delicious noodle house would be the main star, the noodle. With noodles that leaves no stain of preservatives and being executed to perfection on the cooking mode, this would justify how good your noodles will be! Am not a fan for soggy noodles that are overwhelmed with unpleasant taste!

Recommended! There are 2 Da Lians in Singapore and there are of the same heritage!
