As you step into Hotel Re!, a modern retro themed boutique hotel, you are lost in swirls of vivacious colours and psychedelic furnishings tempered with a sleek modern touch. With numerous themed boutique hotels in the metropolis, this 12-storey, 140-room boutique hotel is a wondrous surprise waiting to be discovered.

So here I was with my mum, for my festive set meal at Hotel Re!'s dedicated restaurant; Re!Fill. Accompanied by the placid environment of the serene city park, guests are given the privilege to savour their meals without rushing through them.

The meal started off with an appetizer- Portobello Mushroom in Oilive, Marinated Scallop, U.S White Asparagus and Black Truffle Vinaigrette. Very beautifully laid out, the appetizer was as appetizing as it looked!

Next, we had the soup- Chicken of Essence with Spinach Revioli Enhanced. Personally, I felt that the soup induced a very 'homely' feeling as it was simple yet tasty. It tasted very much like the soup from your home-made macaroni. There was a simple slice of toast with salted butter to compliment the soup served.

Following that, we had the main course. I had: grilled beef tenderloin with foie gras sauce, sauce potato gratin and a medley of vegetables. My mum had: roasted chestnut stuffing, honey baked ham, potato gratin, zuchinni and raspberry walnut dressing. We shared our mains to get a taste of both dishes. After discussion, we both felt that both mains were just as fabulous! My beef tenderloin was well done, not too tough to chew on and the meat juices blended very well with the foie gras sauce. The turkey was finely sliced and the mix of ham slices gave the whole dish a slightly salted taste.

Penultimately, our much anticipated desserts arrived! Hotel Re!'s 'Temptation Delights' they call it. Indeed, the desserts looked very tempting from afar as we glanced across the room waiting for the waitress to serve the very colorful platter. Temptation Delights consists of: a scoop of chocolate ice-cream, toppled with strawberry, a mini mango cake, a cocktail jelly as well as a 'kebab' of fruits. The variety of desserts were delicate and sweet as they should taste.

Finally, we had our beverages (coffee/tea) to end off the meal.

This festive set meal is priced at $23.80++. I would say its worth a try, but if you're looking for something more filling, opt for their buffet instead! Have a splendid Christmas everyone!!

I love buying bread from this chain because of the variety. Their promotion is currently any 3 buns for $2.50. My favorite bread however, is not from the range on promotion. It is their raisin cream cheese bread which is very soft and fresh. Best to come early in the morning where their cream cheese is served warm from the oven. The fluffy texture of the bread and cream cheese just melts in one's mouth so heavenly. Try it!

My family and I lunched at PuTien, the one at CitySquare Mall. As it was a weekend, the queue was super long! Thank god we made reservations before hand. The food was pretty decent but its rather expensive for frequent visits! Love the complimentary abalone set they served. We had many items to choose from the menu as well as items for self-service. The prawns, fish and soup were good. The only thing I felt they ought to improve on was the desserts..they should have more variety like a chocolate fountain?

My family and I are basically big eaters and we decided to try out this buffet after random sourcing over the internet. The cafe is located at Concorde Hotel with a very classic backdrop for an excellent meal. The spread includes peranakan cuisine, japanese and american delights. I was overall quite pleased with the food variety, especially with the fresh salmon slices. The service was good and the staffs cleared our plates efficiently. If you are wondering where else to have buffet lunch, this place is worth a try.

headed to Din Tai Fung for lunch on a typical weekday. the queue was quite long although it was a weekday. must be due to the lunch hour! their signature dim sum- xiao long baos were hot and juicy! had a pork cutlet rice to go with and washed the meal down with tea served. service was fine, and the lighting was cosy. I think it would be great if they had the xiao long bao buffet at their wisma outlet..probably too much to ask for, but the one in holland-v would be more worth for money! with steamboat and all..best of both worlds! come on lets have one in orchard pleaseeee!

Heaven's Loft has gotta be every girl's favourite place for desserts!

Went there some time ago with my mum for their Tuesday's specials- Ala Carte Buffet.
You get to choose from a variety of Starters (including Escargots etc.), Soups, Pastas, Mains (including Steak, Baby Back Ribs etc.) and a whole page of desserts (including Crepes and Chocolate Fondue at the ala-minute stations).

Tried almost all of their main courses and my favourite was the beef cheeks! For the desserts, I'd rate the crepes the best..only thing that the expression given by the cook was not so amiable. Overall, service was good despite some bad reviews on it. The price was heavenly expensive but I guess its okay to indulge once in a while!

Marche is love! I love almost everything there, the ambiance, the cows, the FOOD! A few weeks back, my girlfriend and I had our tea break there. Its a great place to relax and chill after all that tired shopping. We tried their coffee bean cheese cake which left us craving for more!! Came in a set with coffee/tea. I had hot-piping tea..thinking back, it would be great if they had a dessert buffet. Their bakery is just upstairs with so many pastries and cakes to choose from..another place for tea time takeaways people!

totally love the BKa4dables promo at a reasonable $4.50! ideal for students like us, absolutely pocket friendly! the set includes a burger, a drink and a dessert! but right now I think the additional dessert promo is over. I had a BK singles mushroom swiss. the taro was soft and sweet in the inside and crispy on the outside! not much people around the raffles xchange outlet though. a good place to settle for a meal before continuing on your journey to the mrt station!

The poh piah here is really good! Thanks to my friend's recommendation, I got to try it for myself. Their poh piah sauce is well blended with a mix of vegetable ingredients..especially the dried shrimps and veggies which were really crunchy. This poh piah tastes different from the usual ones because they have added garlic into it..for those who don't take garlic, remember to tell the auntie to exclude them! The garlic taste is quite strong together with the chili sauce..

I had to run an errand at Chinatown and passed by this bakery shop. Their buns are really cute and miniature in size. I bought their chocolate and yam flavors to try. The shop auntie charged me extra 10 cents for the box packaging though. It is best to eat the buns straightaway as they are very soft and fresh. The fillings in the buns are also very warm and sweet. Comes in a pack of 6 and costs $1.30 only..very reasonably priced.

I was recently obsessed with the breads at Barcook Bakery. Their breads are really fresh and warm from the oven. I bought a potato bun which was worth queuing up for! The mixture of potato and cheese was simply perfect. The orange cheese was like oozing out from the already soft mashed potato and the taste was really heavenly. I would go back there again for my bread cravings.

It was my colleague's birthday and we decided to buy her a cake from Awfully Chocolate. The chocolate cake was awfully nice and it was packed neatly into a box. As we picked the All Chocolate flavor, the whole cake was filled with pure dark chocolate. There was a layer of chocolate fudge in between and the taste is not too bitter but appropriately sweet. A good recommendation for chocolate lovers..!

Being a fan of mushrooms, I decided to try their mushroom horfun. Costs something like $3.80 per plate. The queue during lunch hour was quite long but it was worth the wait. Their mushrooms had a delightful taste, together with their generous brown gravy..not too heavy for a lunch meal and it is simply delicious. Will try their other hor fun flavors soon!

This food kiosk sells many cute mini buns. I was recommended by my friend to try out their buns and there was a long queue when I got there. Ranging from many flavors, I chose their chocolate mini buns which came in a pack of six. Their buns are soft, fluffy and fresh from the oven. For $1.60 a pack, I am definitely going back to try their other flavors.

After watching a food channel, my friends and I decided to check this place out for buffet lunch. Their price is quite reasonable and the location makes it convenient for the most of us. They have six stations in total: roasted meat, noodle, claypot, dimsum, pizza and desserts. My favorite station was the pizzas because they were baked upon request. The teriyaki chicken pizza was crisp and nice, very suitable for people who are japanese-food lovers; like me! Also, we shared a seafood & tofu claypot, which was really fragrant and tasty. The rest of the dishes were just average.
