Fried Chicken Rice
Just OK 2012-07-05
Western Food - Blissful Food City ( Yishun )
I ordered half of the fried chicken and opted to have rice rather than the fries. The set came with baked bean, coleslaw as well as cucumber and tomato. The rice served was just plain rice. The fried chicken came with a layer of crispy skin. The meat still have it juiciness in tact. It did not taste too oily. It was a satisfying dinner and i am likely be back to try the rest.

Roasted Meat
Just OK 2012-07-05
May Flower Roasted Meat Specialist ( Chinatown )
This is one of my regular stalls whenever i come here for lunch. They served one of the most delicious roasted meat and char siew in this food centre. My regular order has always been the roasted meat and char siew rice. Their meat used is well selected to make sure it met the requirements of having a balance of lean and fat meat to give it the juicy texture. The char siew has a slightly charred layer to give it the flavour.

Bak Kwa
Cries 2012-07-05
Bee Cheng Hiang ( Woodlands )
I was here shopping with my mum. We decided to get some bak kwa to have it at home later. We were attracted by the packeting of this golden coin bak kwa and decided to get it. The taste was a let down. We ended up feeling rather disappointed. The texture of these bak kway was tough. It required some efforts to bite and to chew it. We did not like it at all. I think i would go for freshly barbecued bak kwa next time.

Fried Chicken
Just OK 2012-07-05
Tenderbest Western Food ( Jurong East )
That was my super cum dinner. I happened to work late and missed dinner. Most of the stalls have already closed then so i decided to get a fried chicken. They served with a generous portion of french fries. The fries tasted a bit soggy. The chicken still have got a slight warm when i got home. It did not taste too oily though. The chicken must have been marinated well as it tasted quite good with the right level of saltiness and flavour.

Beef Steak
Smile 2012-07-05
Western Food - 722 Foodfare ( Ang Mo Kio )
I tried the beef steak from this new western food stall for the first time. I ordered a 250 grams of beef and requested to have it at medium for done-ness. The beef steak came serving on the old school hot plate just like those use in steak houses. I will give full mark for their presentation. They managed to get the done-ness spot on. When cut open the piece of steak, it has got a nice pinkish color. It served with their special brown sauce. I wanted a marshed potato as side. I enjoyed my piece of steak and will be back to try others.

Chicken rice

Yishun 925 Chicken Rice - 722 Food Fare ( Ang Mo Kio )
A good news when this famous chicken rice stall decided to open its branch in Ang Mo Kio central. I have since became one of their regular customers. There are different pricing for having there and taking away. Their chickens are very tender and juicy with a distinctive chicken taste. They served it with their special sauce together with slices of tomato and cucumber as well as achar. Their chilli is one of the best. It is made from chilli padi to give it an intense spiciness. Their chicken rice is one of the better ones that i had tried. It has got a very flavourful chicken broth taste and very grainy texture. Strongly recommended.

PAU
Just OK 2012-07-05
109 Hong Kong Dim Sum ( Bukit Batok District )
I was here for lunch and spotted this dim sum stall. I decided to take away a meat pau to have it for snack later. The skin of the pau was still soft when i had it 2 hours later. It came with a generous amount of filling consists of pork and a slice of egg in it. The filling was very juicy. The best way to enjoy such a pau is to have it with coffee. I am interested to come back to try their other dim sum next time.

Vegetarian bee hoon
Just OK 2012-07-05
Vegetarian ( Jurong East )
I wanted something light so vegetarian bee hoon is a good option. There was quite a few people queuing at this stall during lunch. I ordered the fried bee hoon and requested to have it with curry vegetable. It came with those vegetarian fried items and artificial char siew and a good portion of curry vegetable consists of cabbage and tau kwa. They served the bee hoon with green cut chillies. Simple and nice.

Fishballs Soup
Just OK 2012-07-05
JH ( West Coast )
I went to this food centre to take away a packet of fishball soup to have it for dinner at home. It came with 8 x fishballs in the soup. These fishballs have a bouncy texture and not as fishy as expected. The soup was clear with a light peppery taste and no hint of MSG added. It is nice to eat it on its own or to go with rice. I love having these fishballs with the red cut chillies in soya sauce.

Prawn Soup Noodle!
Smile 2012-07-05
Kopitiam, Big Prawn Noodle ( Telok Blangah )
i rarely ordered soup noodle but it was a rainy day and i wanted something warm so noodle soup is a good choice. The soup prawn noodle came with a few pieces of prawns and pork ribs with the yellow noodle together with bean sprouts and kang kong. A handful of fried pork lards were added to enhance the flavour. The soup was so tasty. The texture of noodle was quite soft just exactly how i liked it. The pork ribs were soft and tender. A good bowl of prawn noodle soup.

Popiah
Just OK 2012-07-05
Popiah Stall - S11 ( Ang Mo Kio )
I tried this popiah for the first time. I was there for frog leg porridge but still feeling hungry after eaten it so i decided to try this popiah for the first time. It was made by an elderly auntie. I ordered just 1 for $1.30. The filling was the usual turnips, bean sprouts, boiled egg etc. The chilli seemed to be the star of this popiah. It has got a distinct spiciness which i liked very much. The skin seemed to be handmade as it did not have the elastic feel nor too dry.
