Much Raved About TeoChew Restaurant

Mong Hing Teochew Restaurant ( Beach Road )

Went for early Mother's Day dinner on a weekday night. Guess the news of it closing this month being the reason why the restaurant was full. Ordered the set menu. The food is above average but a tad overpriced. hmmmm.
The pomfret is fresh and sweet though. And the orh-nee is GOOD!tongue Good to try before it closes down.
Spoke to them, they have no plans when to reopen but they are not definite they will never reopen. So the fans out there, you might get a chance to eat at the restaurant in the future.

Weekend Brunch!!
Just OK 2013-05-10

Dean & Deluca ( Somerset )

Great hype about this place and I finally made my visit there. Had this "Berries & Flap Jack". Nice when you first ate it...but good to share. If not, it gets a bit jerlat after eating.
Will I come again? Hmmm...Maybe no, there are so many other better brunch places elsewhere. But definitely good to try once! smile

Nice little hideout

Stranger's Reunion ( Tanjong Pagar )
This place was very packed on a public holiday afternoon. Too little too packed for comfort I must say. Magic aka latte brewed by our award winning barista,Ryan was great! However, it was a bit cold when we started drinking it as we were busy taking photos.

We had their daily specials- The strangest breakfast. Nothing very strange..tasted good but did not wow me. We also ordered the waffles...and I highly recommend it! Awesome.

I would yet to try their cakes..would be back if I am on that regionsmile

Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant

Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant ( Beach Road )
We went to the outlet at Parkroyal Hotel for dad's eary birthday dinner.

The place was not too crowded on a sunday evening. We chose the set menu which seems to serve a wider variety.

We had the dimsum platter as the first dish followed by a the usual sharkfin soup, some meat, stir fried vegetables and noodles.

The highlight of the dinner is the si chuan style fish. Hot and spicy just perfect for me~~

Dessert was their infamous beancurd..simple but satisfying ;)

Ah Li Ipon Hor Fun
Just OK 2011-03-20

Ah Li Ipon Hor Fun ( Bedok )
Went to the market for brunch on sat morning. Most of the stalls have long queues, this is the one with acceptable people in front of me.

Had tried their fish wantan before (these can be bought home raw and to be boiled as soup)
So decided to try their hor fan. The noodles look good, but it seems to early for noodles.

Hmmm nothing very extraordinary but it is a staple food and wantan filling is nice with crunchy water chestnut within the fish paste ;)

Pizza is a must eat at this place. Recommended: the roasted duck pizza, you would be hooked! Do note that u have the choice of ordering 2 flavours in 1 pizzasmile

Their timbre platter that comes with 6 tapas item from the menu is good for sharing as well!

As for desserts, nothing much to rave about though.

Eighteen Chefs

Eighteen Chefs Pte Ltd ( Simei )
When you are too lazy to travel all the way to town, this is one of those comfort food where you can find in one of the neighbourhood in the East.

Eighteen chefs serve simple cafe food, ranging from waffles, western food, sandwiches to asian delights. I tried their baked rice. Pretty good! They are very generous with their cheese. Perfect for cheese lovers!

Megumi Japanese Restaurant ( Clementi )
Went to the other outlet located at upper east coast road.

Tried their sushi maki, the chirashi don and the yakitori. The sushi taste fresh, simply melts in your mouth. After eating the chirashi don, we would definitely want to try the sashimi the next round.

It was a nice dinner. Definitely going back again albeit the queue ^_^

Yotei Japanese Restaurant ( Orchard )
A humble japanese restuarant nestled at a quiet part of the bustling Orchard Road. If you are at Forum, this is a nice place to check out.

Love the sushi, definitely better than those in big sushi chains in town. Do try the salmon mentai sushi!!!!!

Moreover, reasonably priced. A hidden gem in orchard ^_^

Bonta Italian Restaurant & Bar ( Mohammed Sultan )
The most impressive item of the restaurant is their complementary bread-in-a-cup. Best bread that I ever had!!

We had their signature lobster angel hair pasta which was $$$ as well as their risotto. Thumbs up!

Their molten lava chocolate cake was nothing very extraordinary though satisfying. Bonus points for the chocolate button on the house at the end of the meal.

Not a cheap meal on the whole. However, worth a try for the experience and ambience. Not forgetting the bread! yummmmmmsmile

   The unforgettable bread~~~

My Little Spanish Place
Smile 2011-03-09

My Little Spanish Place ( Bukit Timah (Postal Code:28) )
A cozy place suitable for gatherings with friends. Met up with old school mates at this charming part of Singapore. Nice place to bring your date too!

Tapas served in this place are priced in the range of $10. Order 3 to 4 and it is good for all four pax to share.

The house paella was tasty: saffron-scented rice grains with ingredients like prawns, chicken, squid and peas.

We had "churros con chocolate" and "fried milk", light and different from the usual heavy cheesecakes and lava cake. High recommended!tongue

Lastly, do not forget their cava sangria ^^
