Located along Tanjong Katong Road, this is one cafe that doesn't like to take itself too seriously but trust me, their food is seriously nice. The cafe is cozy and makes one feel very comfortable in with its baby blue and pink theme. The whole wall is filled with framed cartoon figures of Kyra and her random acts of cuteness.

I bought a Valentine's day set menu deal on a famous deal website and these are what is inclusive.

Starter
Cream of Mushroom Soup

Cream of Mushroom Soup

Cream of Mushroom Soup with Toasted Garlic bread. Mushroom soup is rich and savoury. Thumbs up.

Appertizer
Soft Shell Crab Creaser Salad

Soft Shell Crab Creaser Salad

Soft Shell Crab Creaser Salad. The soft shell crab is a bit too fried. So it's not to my taste and I didn't eat much.

Entree
Roasted Rosemary half Chicken

Roasted Rosemary half Chicken

Rosemary half Chicken. Stuffed with the chef's special stuffing, slow baked to a golden brown and served with a mixture of poached vegetable, baked potatoes and brown sauce. This is delicious although I had a hard time cutting the chicken.

Dessert
Baked Choco lava cake

Baked Choco lava cake

The yummilicious Chocolate Lava cake with Vanilla Ice Cream and Chocolate Syrup. I had high standard for chocolate lava cakes as I have tasted some really delicious ones and really bad ones too. The most common bad ones are because of the dryness of the cake. This one at With a Pinch of Salt has the right moisture right , with hot chocolate oozing out and the perfect combination of the cold vanilla ice-cream. This dessert really makes me wanted to go back for a second visit.

Overall, this cafe is suitable for all ages and they have been featured on TV programs too. Service wise is great too. Staff were attentive to our requests and also helped us to take photos.

My dessert house is a cozy place that lured my companions and I to step in for some desserts. Bright wall colour with neatly arranged tables and chairs and the giant framed up photos of their desserts make us feel comfortably at home. They have a wide range of dessert. Whether you want it hot or cold, they've got it. The four of us ordered different items so that we got to try different desserts at one go.
Hot Red bean Soup

Hot Red bean Soup

Hot red bean soup to boost red blood cells good for the ladies with monthly period. It's different from the hawker red bean soup as it comes with sago and ginko nuts. Really nutritious.
Mango Pomelo

Mango Pomelo

I don't really like their Mango Pomelo. The mango is abit sour and pomelo bitter.
Mango Sweetheart

Mango Sweetheart

Mango Sweetheart is made up of fruity ice jelly topped with mango, strawberry, kiwi, peach, longan and lime. It taste sour too. It goes to shows that they really use fresh fruit (without soaking in sugar syrup) to make their dessert.
National Treasure

National Treasure

I love my National treasure! No wonder it's labelled as the Best seller. It's silky and smooth beancurd topped with red tea jelly, nata de coconut, longan and strawberry! I'm in love with this sweet dessert!
Chocolate Milo Waffle

Chocolate Milo Waffle

Chocolate Milo Waffle. The waffle hot, but it's not crispy and taste abit blend. With chocolate ice-cream and milo powder. The concept is like milo dinosaurs.
Chicken Spaghetti

Chicken Spaghetti

Not only do they served dessert, they also have some main course. Tried their chicken spaghetti with Juicy tomato sauce. Not bad.

Overall, spent $27.50 here for the desserts and spaghetti. Worth trying.

Attended my friend's wedding dinner at Peony Jade Restaurant. As I don't frequent clark quay that much, had a hard time finding the place. It was actually located on the second storey of the shop houses. I love the whole ambiance of this place. Tables are not too far apart and the lights are not too strong creating a very cozy feeling.

The 8 dishes are wonderful. Almost every dishes were wiped up and there's no wastage of food. The chef also put in a great deal of effort to make the fishes looks nice and presentable. For example the cold dish, the middle part was beautifully sculptured. The King Prawn dish is another example. Looks at the mini decorative on the spoon by the side. So wonderfully crafted. The dish itself is special as I usually had cereal prawn but this time round, the prawn is coated with egg yolk!

It's a great place with nice food. Can consider holding a wedding here next time too!

Big bowl of mild laksa Smile Sep 26, 2011

Categories : Noodles

Every now and then I find myself having the craving for laksa and I just have to satisfy this craving so I go into EAT. and just order a bowl of laksa. There are lots of staff at the counter, each with their own responsibilities but ended up still quite messy. Luckily they double confirm with me again that I do not want to add the sambal chili inside my bee hoon laksa, if not I'm afraid they might just add it in conveniently. Without adding sambal chili, the gravy does taste a bit mild but it's just the right taste that I want so that I won't get a tummy upset afterward. They are generous with the ingredients added too.

Yum Yum Chili Crab Sub  Smile Aug 30, 2011
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : American | Fast Food | Burgers and Sandwiches

Chili crab is an iconic dish in Singapore and Subway has cleverly added this to it's menu and it's called the Chili Crab Sub. I've always considered Subway a healthier choice when it comes to the many Fast Food Restaurant available. Not only we can choose the type of bread we can also add on the vegetables toppings.

For my Chili Crab Sub, I've picked the Italian bread as I'm not quite a fan of those oats and wheat bread. Also added the four vegetables - Tomatoes, Lettuce, Capsicum and cucumber. After that I also agreed to add on the cheese. When it comes to the topping, I asked the staff over at the counter to recommend what topping I should choose and she actually told me none would be better. I heed her advice and check out my Chili Crab Sub happily.

The overall impression of my Chili Crab sub is that I love it to bites! It's nutrients enough with the veggies, cheese, bread and tasty enough with the chili crab toppings. I can now understand why the staff advice me not to add on topping as only this way, I can truly savour the chili crab sauce. Of course it's just fake crab meat with a dose of chili sauce and can't really compared to those chili crab in a seafood restaurant but it's something that is affordable and can be eaten often. Thumbs up for Subway! lol
