Ice-cream buffet
Just OK 2011-03-30

Swensen's ( Serangoon )
First time experience was average. The ice cream buffet has a lot of selection to go around. No chance to try all the types. They have a good selection of toppings, but the ice cream is already very tasty, some ice cream flavours are rare and never heard of too. Sweet.

But can still make improvements in ambience and price cause it is kind of expensive for just desserts.

Recommended Dish(es):
Ice cream, fish and chips, breaded chicken

Awesome dimsum
Smile 2011-03-30

Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao ( Holland )
Dim sum was delicious, Xiao long bao especially, that's what they are famous for. Once you bite, the juice just spirt out, like a melted chocolate. Quite expensive, good for family experience, especially those who likes chinese cuisines. Service was good, very prompt.

Waiting time was ok. The ambience was soothing, very chinese style, typical chinese restaurant.

Great for working executives!
Smile 2011-03-22

Boulevard Bayfront ( Marina Bay )
I have been a frequent customer of this bar since it opened at the Financial centre as I am a working executive near that area, I can conveniently visit the place for happy hour with my colleagues.

The best part of the bar besides the convenient location for working executives like me is the view of the Marina Bay waterfront. And I have heard that the bar is going to be an alfresco bar soon! Which means there will be a greater and clearer view of the waterfront!

I love the tapas that go with the alcohols at the bar such that it isn't limited to only drinking, but accompanied with great food. The highly recommended handmade pizza have got to be my all time favourite!

I look forward to visiting the place everyday after a tiring day of work to chill and relax with my friends!

Love the brews!

BOULEVARD – Craft Beers By Archipelago ( City Hall )
I have loved the series of beers by Archipelago for a long time. Last week I came across this bar via the search engine and saw pretty good reviews about it. So I made a trip down to the bar with my colleagues after work the next day.

Firstly, I was really impressed by the range of brews by Archipelago available at the bar. Had a lot of fun introducing and picking out some of the popular drinks for my colleagues and myself. My personal favourite has got to be the Summer Ale!

Besides the range of beers available, I was also surprised to find that there is also a wide selection of good bar food to go with the drinks. It is not just a bar but also a restaurant bar. My colleagues and I had a satisfying meal by sharing some of their specialties. We ate colonial chicken curry and crackling pork belly which were awesome!

All in all I had a really good time there with the company of good friends, good food, and good beers. Definitely recommended!

Bad service
Cries 2011-03-18

Fish & Co. ( Boon Lay )
I experienced one of the worst restaurant service in my life when my dance committee and i went down for dinner the other day.

First and foremost to be more objective speaking, I think the food served at the restaurant was of a pretty good standard. There is a good choice of variety and the servings were really huge! The food itself I would say is delightful and filling, especially suited for fish lovers!

But besides the food, the bad service provided even before you get to have your meal can already turn customers off.

The staffs kept coming to our table with the wrong orders, you couldn't even count the number of times with ten fingers. Serving the wrong orders aside, i had to wait at least 20-30 mins for my food to be served.

I think the problem lies with the miscommunication among the staffs. Glasses of water asked to be refilled were not attended to even after requesting for it several times. And the bill took a long time to come.

Overall, i would say i will not be patronising that outlet again.

Recommended Dish(es):
Fish and chips, seafood platter

Got to try the buffet!
Smile 2011-03-18

Sakae Sushi ( Somerset )
Everytime I'm there I will definitely go for the tea time or dinner buffet!

Personally I think tea time buffet is more worth it 'cause it's cheaper but you can still eat till the night!

I really like the buffet because there is a wide variety of sushis to choose from! You can eat till you drop seriously. However they do limit the number of red plates (more expensive) you can take. But i'm okay with it because I'm sure the organization has got to minimize their costs as well. There is also one serving of udon and desserts under the buffet! Drinks are not included though.

One down side would be the selection of sushis on the belt only comes in intervals. So sometimes there will not be a wide variety on the conveyor belt and you have to order from the menu.

But i'll definitely recommend this place if you are looking for japanese buffet. The ala carte is too expensive!
