Tong Heng Confectionery ( Chinatown )

Their egg tarts and char siew pastry are always the reason for me to go back. I have yet to try something as good as their egg tart. The flaky pasty has got a nice buttery taste and the egg custard with a smooth and soft texture.
The char siew pastry has got juicy sweet char siew filling in the equally buttery paste with sesame seeds on top. Their prices have increased through the years but still my top choice for snacks.

Best chicken rice.
Smile 2013-04-27

Leong Yeow Famous Waterloo St Chicken Rice ( Bugis )

I think this is the best Chicken Rice in town area. This is a good place to have cheap and good chicken rice. The roasted chicken is my first choice. The meat is tender and not too tough. The roasted skin has got nice fragrant. The chicken rice got taste of chicken broth. The best is their super hot chilli sauce with a bit of ginger taste.
This is a must try for all chicken rice lovers.

Best croissant
Smile 2013-04-27

Tiong Bahru Bakery by Gontran Cherrier ( Tiong Bahru )

They have the best butter croissant. It is $2.50. Quite expensive but i think worth it because it is really delicious to eat it on its own. It is still nice to eat even if you keep for next day. The size of the croissant is quite big too. Just 2 of the croissants can fill up my stomach. I will go back to try others with more croissants. This is a must try items there. Strongly recommended.

Taiwanese dessert

BlackBall ( Dover )

Almost every of my friend is talking about this taiwanese dessert. I went to try and ordered their signature that got yam balls, tapioca balls, red beans and glass jelly. I was told to add the milk to the dessert first. I thought it will be very sweet but it turned out to be just nice. All the balls are chewy and soft. It is very refreshing when eat together with the shaved ice. Must try la!

Beef burger
Smile 2013-04-27

Relish ( Serangoon )

I came during lunch to eat the beef burger. The beef patty was quite thick came with a slice of cheese and rocket. The patty tasted very tender and juicy. They made the patty from quality beef and it is one of the better i tried. I liked it very much. The burger is quite filling but the fries quite disappointing. The fries turned out to be soggy. The price is a bit expensive.

Zhong Zhong Fine Spice ( Bukit Timah (Postal Code:28) )

I come here very often. I like to order tau kwa, prawn fritter, nghor hiang, spring roll and other fried items. About 5 to 6 items can be easily above $10. The prices used to be much cheaper before. Their homemade chilli sauce went well with the bee hoon and fried items. The bee hoon is a must order. I like the texture and taste. This stall off irregularly. Recommended.

Prawn noodle
Smile 2013-04-27

Chung Cheng ( Beach Road )

This is a must eat stall whenever i am in this area. I went for dinner at about 7.30 pm. The stall was about to close. I ordered a big bowl of noodle ($4) that came with a lot of ingredients like pork ribs, prawns, boiled egg and beansprouts. I asked for extra chilli and they gave it generously. The chilli is not spicy at all. The soup given with the noodle has a nice prawn taste. Nice dinner.

Dessert!
Smile 2013-04-27

Baskin Robbins ( Clementi )

I am one of their biggest fans. I tried a few flavors and my favourite has to be Caramel Chocolate Crunch. It is a simple vanilla ice cream that came with chocolate cookie and caramel swirls. The level of sweetness is just right with enough chocolate cookie to give it the texture. The caramel taste is simply delicious too. This is a must try for caramel lovers like me!

Jia Xiang Sarawak Kuching Kolo Mee ( Telok Blangah )

I came to try their signature kolo mee that got abalone for $9.50. The price is quite steep for a bowl of noodle. Their special noodle tossed with tasty sauce with ingredients like char siew, dumplings, abalone and vegetable. The abalone and dumplings served in the soup. The abalone did not have much taste. The texture of the noodle is really nice. I will still come back to eat it even though the price is high.

Happy Kampong Seafood ( Yishun )

This is my favourite tze cha place. Some of the must order dishes are roasted chicken, sweet & sour pork ribs and fish maw soup. The price is very reasonable. The roasted chicken is very tasty with nice crispy skin. The pork ribs got tender texture coated with nice sweet and sour taste. The place can be quite crowded during weekends so must come early. Recommended.

Nice fried kway teow
Smile 2013-04-27

Hill Street Fried Kway Teow ( Chinatown )

I always eat fried kway teow at this stall. It is still very nice after all these years. The price has increased but the standard is still good. I always order without the cockles. They will replaced it with a prawn and ingredients like fishcake, beansprouts and my favourite pork lards. Pork lards is the star of this dish and without it, the flavor will not be the same. Recommended.

Iced Lemon Tea
Smile 2012-08-28

Beverages - Yishun 81 Foodcourt ( Yishun )
This is my favourite drink in this coffee shop. I ordered it whenever i was here for lunch or dinner. This iced lemon has a good balance of sweet and sour taste. It tasted refreshing with minimum level of sweetness. It came with a slice of lemon in the drink and just enough of ice cubes to keep it chilled. Almost every table ordered it. This is the most popular drink in this coffee shop.

Popcorn
Smile 2012-08-28

Garrett Popcorn ( Sentosa )
Watching movie is not the same if without the popcorns from Garrett's. I am a huge fan of this particular brand of popcorn. I prefer the caramel flavour to the cheese though both tasted as good but i have a sweet tooth so the caramel flavour suited me much better. The sweetness for the caramel flavor is just right. I usually ordered the small packet as the taste of popcorn would be compromised if you keep it till next day.

Beef Kway Teow
Smile 2012-07-31 (Related Review)

Lor 9 Beef Kway Teow ( Geylang )
I have heard of their big name but have never get to try it so far. I came for an early dinner at about 5.30 pm. I was the only customer there at that time. I ordered the smallest serving for $7. The portion was quite small for that price but it came with a lot of sliced beef so i think it kind of made it worth the value. The sliced beef tasted tender and soft. The kway teow has got very distinctive wok hei. It was nice to eat together with green cut chillies.

Noodle soup
Smile 2012-07-31

Porridge - Liang Seng Huat Private Limited ( Ang Mo Kio )
This stall offers different types of porridge and also noodle. The type of noodle used is E mien. The lady manned the stall all by herself so waiting is a must. She cooked the noodle upon order. She cooked it with ingredients like liver, lean meat, minced meat and an egg with a handful of vegetable. The noodle then served with red cut chillies. The texture of noodle was springy serving in the tasty soup. It is a good choice on a cold day or when not feeling well. I am now a regular after tried it for the first time a few weeks ago.
