The Connoisseur Concerto ( Orchard )
Arrived here for a cuppa of coffee after having dinner in the area.

Was originally going to order my usual latte when the Christmas Drinks menu on the table caught my eye. The Nutte Latte, a mix of hazelnut, peanuts and coffee. But what really sealed the deal was the cute little gingerbread man made of chocolate. I mean, how could you resist a floating man made of chocolate? haha

I must admit that the 'man' did not last too long once I added my spoon into the mix and started the stirring. But the latte tasted good, especially made so by the addition of the chocolate with the usual hazelnut latte.

However, the peanut was nowhere to be seen. That is, till I finished about 3/4 of the cup and I started to taste some gooey peanut butter-like substance in the drink. That was when it started to get a little weird and I had to stop.

Not a bad drink overall but I would only recommend this for nut lovers.

Char Grill Bar - Yun Tong Coffee Express Cafe 2000 ( Hougang )
I chanced upon this stall serving Western food that is similar to Astons and Botak Jones.

Decided to try out the Cajun Chicken Burger since I had ordered the same dish at both their competitors previously.

Though there was a long queue, I managed to receive my order in less than 10 minutes. The burger was just what I expected, juicy meat patty with the melted cheese sandwiched between the bread.

As for the fries, there were a number of sauces one could choose and I elected for the meat sauce on this occasion. It added a unique twist to the usual fries expected of the dish.

I would definitely re-visit this place for a value-for-money meal when in the area.

Delightful treats with exceptional service

Orange Clove ( Kaki Bukit )
I have to say that I didn't know what to expect from a caterer that promises International cuisine with an Asian touch but after tasting their fabulous spread of gastronomic goodies on last Thursday, I have to say, "There's something about Orange Clove"

From the Baked Snapper with Herb Crust to the Wasabi Prawns, the ingredients used in the preparation of the dishes was top-notch. For the former, the acidity of the herb crust matched the oiliness of the fish perfectly while the wasabi taste was not overpowering for the latter.

The mini fruit tarts were also mellow and tasty, which served as a perfect accompaniement to the main courses.

Also, full marks for the wonderful flower arrangements and the decorations used at the buffet, enhancing the overall look of the buffet table. The uniformed service staff also provided exceptional customer service by putting on their best smiles and always obliging to any requests you throw at them.
