Romantic dinner with friends Smile Feb 14, 2011

I've heard so much about this place that i know i have to try it!

It was a dinner meetup with friends and I didnt know that the cafe is situated quite far from the main road. Me and girl-friend took a cab inside and the small road that leads from main road to the cafe was dark (no lights)! A great suggestions to those who wanna come at night - arrange ur own transport, or ask the staffs to help you call for a cab.(they did it for us)

3 of us ordered the following:
1)Banger and Mash ($20)
2)Choc Straw Tart ($8)
3)House Red Wine ($11)
4)Roast Black Cod ($27)
5)Scallop Risotto ($23)
6) Seasoned Fries ($7)

I had the scallop risotto. It was great texture and not too dry. Love how the cheese melts in my mouth! Scallops were huge and fulfilling. It compliments well with the cheese.
We all had a great dinner there.

I'll be back for it's BRUNCH! Looks so yummy from the other reviews here on OpenRice.com!!

The Works Smile Feb 13, 2011

I was back at The HandBurger again for the 3rd time in just 2 months of 2011! I just cannot resist coming back for more burgers and lychee mint crush!

This is really a great place for a casual dining out session with friends. From my countless dining experiences at THB, i knew that they serve quite a big portion for one person, hence i shared 'The Works' with my girl-friend. The beef was well done but it wasnt tough.

It was another enjoyable dinner at THB! smile Should register myself as a THB member on its website!

Must-Buy Bak Kwa for CNY! Smile Feb 13, 2011
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : BBQ

Happy Chinese New Year to Everyone! What are your favourite CNY must-have goodies? For me, its Bak Kwa (Sliced Pork)! I came across Bee Cheng Hiang's store at Jurong Point and saw that the Q was quite short, hence decided to get 1 kg of Bak Kwa! Surprisingly, the queue this year was shorter compared to last year. There were a number of choices such as the Coin shaped (choice of pork or chicken)and the typical Square ones. I bought the square ones. I still prefer Bee Cheng hiang's Bak Kwa compared to Fragance. Hope that they will maintain their standard! lol

crispy, tender & juicy dim sums Smile Dec 22, 2010

Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Hotel | Dim Sum | Seafood

I had a great dim sum experience here for a relative's bday celebration. It was a buffet, hence we ordered as much as we could and really 'pig' it out with the widespread of dimsums!! smile

The egg tarts came in 'mini' size - (a lil smaller than the palm) and it tasted crispy on the outside and fluffy within. Love it!

I also ate some custard buns, they tasted great too.

Roasted Pork is a must-have for chinese celebrations (esp birthdays). When i had my first bite, i was 'WOW' by the combined texture of the skin(crispy), meat(tender) & fats(juicy).

It was a bday celebration for 60th. Hence we also had a big plate of longevity buns (寿桃) on our dining table. It came with many small buns and a giant one!! smile I love eating these buns because the lotus paste fillings are sweet.

I believe this restaurant will serve as a good choice for reunion dinner for CNY 2011! smile

2 course Christmas Set Smile Dec 20, 2010

Categories : Italian | Restaurant | Pasta | Kids-Friendly

I visited this cosy italian restaurant for the 3rd time as my friend love this place totally!
I had a bad experience during my 2nd visit as the spagetti i ordered just didnt work for my palate. Well, this time round, i am pleased with the food! smile

The restaurant is having a 2 course Xmas set and i chose 'pumpkin salad' for the appetizer and Pork Chop with Garlic and Sage (Breaded pork chop with garlic and sage, pan fried and served with aromatic roasted potatoes) for main. The sauce is very NICE! Tasted sweet and complements well with the pork.

My friend wanted the 'broth' for appetizer but it was not avail., hence she ordered the same as me. She ordered the 'steak' (Filet Mignon in Green Pepper Sauce & Gorgonzolla ; 7-oz. Certified Angus Beef tenderloin steak served in a spicy green pepper sauce and topped with gorgonzola cheese) The beef tasted a lil salty and weird for me.

For desserts, we were quite greedy and ordered 3 - Tiramisu, Chocolate Obsession, Creme Brulee. We were actually v excited for the Chocolate Obsession but we felt that the nuts spoilt the cake! We prefer a smooth texture to the cake. The tiramisu & creme brulee tasted pleasing to all of us. We loved them! *slurps*

We all shared a pitcher of Sangria and it was a pleasant dining night for a great catching ups for me and my girl friends.
