Right in the middle of the Central business district and overwhelmed by the business environment I was in, I hunted for a quiet corner to chill and relax. Having known that twelve cupcakes had a branch at golden shoe complex, I went to try my luck.

Being pretty much hidden (turn in from Subway), it took me quite a long time to find. Perhaps, they could put more obvious markings part from the small signboard that they placed. That would certainly create much convenience for customers who are trying to find their way there.

Despite the long search, I must say that they did not disappoint me. The little cupcakes placed in the display cabinet is certainly tempting and I would really love to try them all! But well… how much could I possibly eat? In the end, I chose two different flavors, namely red velvet cupcake and the chocolate chocolate cupcake. My all-time favorite, the red velvet one is really good. It is a cupcake that is made from topping the Classic Red Velvet cupcake with vanilla cream cheese. It is a perfect match! The taste of the soft cake is complemented and enhanced by the light yet flavorful cream cheese topping; it just keeps you going back for more. The chocolate chocolate one is good too. It is really rich and chocolaty. The moist cake is again topped with a cream cheese but this around, a chocolate flavored one is added to the cupcake. As the taste of the vanilla cream cheese remains in my mouth, the chocolate cream cheese is comparably disadvantaged. The double chocolate combination is too heavy for me. I also prefer dark chocolate among the many types of chocolate. Thus, the ideal combination of double chocolate for me is chocolate cupcake topped with 70% dark chocolate. A good mix of sweet and bitterness, this is what I deem heavenly. With good food comes great ambience? The decorations here are rather modern and the place is really clean, however, there are too few seats and the area is very cram.

As for the service, no complains. The price is reasonable too @ $3/cupcake.

Overall, it is a good place to chill and have high tea alone, in pairs or triplets.

SGD 3(Tea)

A Japanese style buffet that offers free flow of sakae and is available only on Saturday. It offers a wide range of dessert, sashimi and other snacks. A cost of $60 + is pretty reasonable. the good service was a bonus. Recommended for a wholehearted meal and for fans of jap cuisine.

a small cosy shop that is mostly for take-away but available for dine in too. It is pretty crowded during lunch/dinner hours. Reserve is not available so be there early. Taste is pretty good and a cost of $10 + for the set below is pretty worth it. A pretty convenient location. Recommended.

SGD 10(Lunch)

$3.60 for a muffin is pretty reasonable in a cafe but i don’t like the idea of using paper plates. Taste is not bad but the texture is a little dry. Staff were friendly and offered to heat up the muffin. A good place to chat and chill but i very much prefer starbucks.

An interesting taste.. a mixture of many different flavours. From the uppermost layer of berry flavour, to chocolate, to cream, to the sponge cake, to the biscuit and orange zest. I don’t know how to describe it. Like it or not, it greatly differs between people. For me, i still prefer the conventional ones. But it’s worth a try? i guess..

They do serve alot of cute cakes at affordable price. a great place to get cakes for the little ones. i’m pretty sure the young ones will like it, the cream, the chocolate and definitely the design. No complains about the service. Recommended for kid’s b’day but if you want really tasty cakes, then mayb some other bakeries.

The hotdog is really good! it’s something that you cannot miss if you’re near Alexandra! Highly recommended for take away! Tables are available for dine in too.

Food that is friendly to the wallet and satisfactory to the stomach is hard to find in the central business district. This yong tau foo stall is one of the minority. Charging 50 cents for each item, min 5 peices, will add up to $3 and an additional 20 cents for take-away. That makes $3.20, a price that is comparable to market stalls. As it is under kopitiam, you get a 10% discount if you pay using the kopitiam card, making the food even more price competitive.

Food items are fresh and serving is just nice. One bad thing is that when you take-away, you either get the soup or you get the sauce. separate packing of sauce or soup is not available as far as i know. Overall, i am very satisfied with the meal. Highly recommended. will visit again.

service is fantastic too! the auntie will serve the food to you if you are sitting nearby.

one bad thing is that the place is always crowded. it's very hard to get a seat. recommended for take-away. will definitely visit again!

It’s a good place to settle down for brunch after morning walk. The heavy meal is just enough to satisfy the craving for something unhealthy after perspiration. They offer both indoor and outdoor environment so people who doesn’t like to stay in aircon environment have an alternative. Simple pleasures that tou don’t have to spend big bucks to enjoy!

It’s a place that you definitely need to make a reservation!
A fusion of Japanese and Korean cuisine. The sizzling beef, the kimchi salad. Just hearing it makes me drool. It’s really tasty and i guess i don’t have to mention the price. highly recommended but do bring a filled wallet with you!

Nowadays, Burgers are commonly associated with fast food due to the rising number of fast food chain. It’s rare to be in a restaurant that serves only burger. The design of the whole restaurant and the coaster that is specially designed for their fries and burger is pretty fresh in Singapore.

The taste of the burger is pretty good. the tender piece of meat and the thin slice of lotus made a real GOOD burger. The addition of the lettuce balances the whole meal and made it seem not as heavy.

Price is approx $10, reasonable for a meal in a restaurant. Come and give it a try!

A good spread of food and lots of seafood. Just the pictures alone make it seem attractive isn’t it? Indeed an enjoyable meal but the quality of food could be improved. Love the jap desserts – mocha etc. Price is not too expensive and rather affordable for buffet. Trying once is enough though.

They carry pretty good burgers. Love their wide range of sauce. somehow, it gives a healthier feeling as compared to other fast food restaurant. I don’t know if it’s just an imaginary difference but i’m pretty sure, at least for the thick fries, that absorbs lesser oil. Price may be higher than other fast food restaurant but i’ll definitely visit again.

What an interesting place where order is taking using a talking pen! The Japanese style buffet restaurant comprises of sides ( like gyoza ) , bbq ( pork , chicken etc) and main dishes ( like noodles, not forgetting dessert. Really enjoyed the meal. It is a good place for gathering! love their sashimi!
