Imperial Treasure La Mian Xiao Long Bao ( City Hall )

My colleague suggested we went to imperial treasure for dinner. what I like most of all the food we ordered was the xiao long bao. The xiao long bao was very juicy. the skin was not too thick, however when you use your chopstick to pick it up, it does not break. the soup in the xiao long bao was very tasty and not too salty. the meat was minced very finely. When dipped in the vinegar, it taste absolutely good.

Ya Kun Kaya Toast ( Boon Lay )

It was a lazy saturday afternoon, my husband and I headed to ya kun for afternoon tea. we ordered two portion of kaya butter toast. I like the kaya that ya kun uses for their toast. Their kaya is very fragrant, they use the pandan kaya. The toast is very crispy, they only toast it when you order so the toast remains fresh. the butter mix together with the kaya makes it taste really good.

McDonald's ( Clementi )

i do not normally eat fast food unless the kids want to eat. My daughter suggested we have mcdonald’s for lunch as she wanted to collect the coca cola glasses. I ordered myself their six piece nugget meal. one thing I like about mcdonald’s nuggets is that it is very crispy on the outside and the nugget meat inside is tender. Another thing that draws me to mcdonald’s nugget is their nugget dip. Not many places have dips as nice as mcdonald’s. I especially like their curry sauce.

Bakery Cuisine ( Choa Chu Kang )

I came across this new bakery in lot one. This bakery is unlike most bakery where you cannot pick your own bun. The buns are all placed in a cake display counter and the staff will help you take and pack whatever buns you one. I decided to give their cranberry cheese a try. It was really value for money cos they were so generous with their cranberries. There were cranberries in every bite. The bun is really good and I like their concept, I think it is more hygienic and people cannot squeeze or press the buns.

Gong Cha ( Choa Chu Kang )

My son was coming home from his outing when my daughter told him to grab the family some gong cha. The weather is so hot lately, so a cold drink is totally necessary. My daughter ordered the earl grey milk tea for me, a oolong milk for herself and her father. She knows our favourites. Gong cha earl grey milk tea is really good. the tea leaves they use somehow manage to brew out very fragrant tea. the drink is very smooth too. very cold and refreshing on such hot days.

i recommend the bolo
Smile 2012-07-26

Baker Talent ( Choa Chu Kang )

I joined in the long queue of people to queue for the bun that is sold here. The bun here are so cheap as compared to those bakeries else where. You can actually get a fairly large size bun for less than a dollar. A lot of people in front of me ordered the bolo bun. The lady queuing in front of me told me that their bolo is really good and she strongly recommend that I try it. So I bought my family four bolo. The bolo were piping hot when they serve to me. their buns cannot take yourself, you have to order at the counter. It was very fragrant and the bun was very light. Really good. I too recommend the bolo to whoever who is interested in buying at this bakery.

Wong Kok Char Chan Teng ( Bugis )

I went to wongkok for dinner with my colleagues. We were browsing through the menu deciding what to eat when we saw the next table being served with their food. the fried rice with diced pork was so fragrant. the aroma of the food floated into my nose. I cannot help but ordered that dish. it turned out the way I smelt it, very delicious. the rice was very fragrant and the diced pork was not too saltish as well. the portion was pretty large, I shared some with another colleague.

Indian Muslim Food - Yi Jia Food Centre ( Choa Chu Kang )

My mother in law took away the roti prata from the indian stall at limbang food court for us as breakfast when we visited. she said the roti prata here is very fresh, they only make it when you order from them so it will always be hot when you get it. The roti prata was very nice, I like the chewy texture. Their curry sauce is really good as well, they gave quite a large portion, even after we finish the prata there were still a lot of curry sauce left over.

Love Korean - Koufu ( Choa Chu Kang )

i ordered from the Korean stall at yew tee point food court. Apparently I was talking to the lady boss, she sounded and looked like Korean. No wonder when I tasted the food, it tasted like those I ate in korea when I was holidaying there. I took away their spicy chicken soup. I must say, it was pretty spicy. Had this mind blowing effect. I could not drink the soup on its own, had to eat it with the rice. the chicken inside was marinated. It was very tasty.

herb taste rice

Chili's ( Jurong East )
I went to chili’s with my husband for dinner. I ordered their shrimp basket. It comprises of prawns, fries and corn. I was feeling exceptionally hungry that day so I decided to add a side dish which is their rice. their rice is not the normal white rice. in fact it looked like those fried rice that we order from zi char stalls but for tastewise, it does not taste anything like it. The rice got this strong herbs fragrance. for people who do not like herbs may find it too strong, but I like herbs so it is good for me.

Ya Kun Kaya Toast ( Choa Chu Kang )

I like the soft boil egg at ya kun. Their soft boiled eggs are always cooked perfectly. It is not overcooked nor is it undercooked. The eggs taste really good too. their toast is pretty delicious too. I like to order their kaya toast. The toast is so crispy. I like to dip my toast in the soft boiled eggs. It make it taste less dry and more flavourful. It makes a really good afternoon tea.

refillable side dishes

Manna Story ( Jurong East )

If those Korean fans who love to eat a lot of those Korean side dishes, manna story is the place for you. They have a lot of side dishes, twelve to be exact. And most importantly their side dishes are free flow. But you have to go and refill them yourself as they have a refill counter. The main course is not very cheap though, but if you are there for the side dishes, then it is very worth it. Their kimchi is really good, a little sour and sweet. very crunchy. they have another vegetable, the sweetish kind marinated in some chilli sauce, really delicious.

ThaiExpress ( Bishan )

i think their sa-nook menu is very affordable. I ordered red tom yum fish soup set. The tom yum soup really whets your appetite. There were a lot of fresh seafood in it as well. the soup is a little spicy, so it is best eaten with their white rice to counter the heat. it also comes with a dessert. The dessert is some coconut sago. There were atap seeds in the dessert as well. I find it pretty unique actually. It was pretty creamy and not too sweet.

Imperial Treasure Noodle & Congee House ( Orchard )

i went with my colleagues to imperial treasure after work. It was the first time I step into this place. It was pretty crowded indeed, luckily a colleague called to make reservation or else the wait would be quite long. So do try to make reservation for dinner be it on weekday or weekends. We ordered a couple of dishes and rice to share, something like the zi char style. The seafood bean curd is really good. the portion was not very big though, but the seafood they used are really fresh and sweet. the gravy tasted real good with rice.

Drinks & Snack Stall - Koufu ( Choa Chu Kang )

i went to koufu for breakfast with my son before he headed to school. We ordered a toast set to share as I was not filling hungry. My boy ate up the toast while the soft boiled egg was left to me to finish. there were two soft boiled eggs, one of mine was a little under cooked where you can see some transparent parts of the egg, the other one was a little overcooked where you have to use your spoon to scoop up. Nevertheless, it was good and filling for me.
