Medz ( Orchard )
Came here several Fridays ago, and tried the Fish & Mushroom Calzone from the Italian stall, and it is very good, a rather large portion, so it would be ideal to share with your friends.

It is a inside pizza sort of food, where it looks like a giant curry puff, with all the fillings on the inside. The filling was great, as the fish was yummy, and the mushrooms had a really nice bite to it smile I also ordered a Vanilla Caramel Latte, which came with 2 chocolate chip cookies. The latte was creamy, sweet and had a nice aroma.

Over here, you self-order and self-collect your food, and while you go back to your table to wait for your food, they give you a beeper, which signals you when your food is ready. You also don't have to carry your cash around as you buy food, as each diner is given a card upon entry to the restaurant.

The furnishings of this place is done really well too, and there's a wine/beer cellar for you to enjoy as well. Would definitely go back again.

Chillin' with Caramel Macchiato
Smile 2012-03-31

The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf ( Changi )
Came to this outlet a few weeks ago to pass time and to chill out. I'm not a regular for this coffee brand, but after this experience, I am more willing to buy from this brand. I ordered a hot Caramel Macchiato, and was greeted with the pleasant sweet smell of caramel. The taste of the coffee was simply buttery, comfy, and just a strong aroma of great coffee smile I like the fact that it's not too sweet, and it balances nicely on your palate. Definitely getting more of this aromatic goodness.

Gloria Jeans
Smile 2012-03-31

Gloria Jean's Coffee ( City Hall )
Had a cup of hot cafe mocha a few weeks ago, and I ordered the large, which was of a reasonable price, ard $6+. As I had ordered take-away for the coffee, I forgot to stir it along the way out, before I drank it, which I only realised when I got to the bottom of the cup, where all the chocolatey goodness was. So, in short, do remember to stir your coffee, if not the taste would be on the bitter side, which I didn't really appreciate, but when I got to the end, the taste was better, and more aromatic cause of the mocha residue on the bottom. Recommended.

Fancy a cinnamon coffee glazed bun?
Smile 2012-03-29

Petit Provence ( Telok Blangah )
Cinnamon coffee glazed bun. A lot to take in right? Well, I tried this interesting bread just the other day, and was pleased to find that the cinnamon and coffee glaze go together really well, and was flavourful plus aromatic. The hint cinnamon was clearly there, and the coffee aroma was all over the bread, the glaze wasn't sweet also, it just complemented the flavours. Would buy this again.

Durian puffs
Smile 2012-03-29

Four Seasons Durians ( Ang Mo Kio )
Bought durian puffs, and wanted to try them out. I think the durian was creamy and good, was served chilled, and the puff pastry was light and fluffy, and when combined with the durian, it was a great chilled treat in the warm afternoon. Would recommend this if you are craving for durian, but don't feel like buying the fruit itself. lol

Cuppycakes galore!
Smile 2012-03-29

Twelve Cupcakes ( City Hall )
If you like gourmet cupcakes, this is the right place for you. Over here, they have a complete variety of interesting flavours, that are sure to tickle your tastebuds. I have tried their peanut butter and jelly cupcake before, and it was heavenly, the peanut butter wasn't too thick, and when combined with moistness of the chocolate cupcake, it is perfect! This time, I had a cappuccino cupcake, which had the aroma of coffee, and even was topped with a coffee bean atop the cupcake frosting. I think at $3, the cupcakes are pretty worth it, and it's nice to give yourself a sweet treat once in a while smile

$1 pancakes for breakfast
Smile 2012-03-29 (Related Review)

Ikea Café ( Tampines )
Visited IKEA a few weeks ago with my mum, and we were there early, as they were having a promo of $1 pancakes for members, and we decided to try it out. I must say, it is very worth the offer, as the pancakes were soft and fluffy, and the maple syrup that came with it was absolutely lovely, tasted really great with the warmth of the pancakes. I also had hot tea with them, and it was a pleasant breakfast.

Popiah & Tofu goreng
Just OK 2012-03-29 (Related Review)

Qiji ( City Hall )
Visited this outlet just several days ago with my friends, and we were looking for a place that serves up mid-day snacks. We ordered popiah & tofu goreng. The popiah was okay, nothing fantastic, but I liked the chestnut that is found in the fillings of the popiah. The tofu goreng was good, as I liked the spicy peanut sauce, and it gave the tofu more aroma, and it was finished in no time lol

Recommended Dish(es):

Nasi lemak and Singaporean faves
Smile 2012-03-29

Qiji ( City Hall )
Came here several weeks ago with my family, and I ordered nasi lemak, which consisted of coconut rice, otah, chicken cutlet, egg, condiments and fried fish fillet. The rice was quite fragrant, and the otah wasn't too spicy, the chicken cutlet was soggy, so I wouldn't recommend that, the egg was okay, and the fish fillet was good. I would recommend all their nasi lemak, since they have quite a variation of the dish. I also had chrysanthemum tea (iced), which was good, as it wasn't too sweet.

Recommended Dish(es):
nasi lemak

Laksa
Smile 2012-03-29

TOAST BOX ( City Hall )
Ordered laksa from this stall in the morning, and it was piping hot, and looked appetising.

Prawns, fishcake, beansprouts, beancurd skin and garnishing was all great, and the noodles were slurp-licious lol The gravy is good, as it isn't too spicy for my liking, and wasn't oily too. I think that the price is worth it, but if you're very hungry, I think you have to order additional items, as the portion isn't that big.

Recommended Dish(es):

Rutan beef bowl
Just OK 2012-03-29

Yoshinoya ( Somerset )
Came here with my cousin a few weeks ago, and we were drawn in by the promotion they were having at that time, 2 bowls for $12. So, we decided to try it. I had the Rutan beef, while my cousin chose the spicy beef. The rutan beef bowl came with a braised egg, like those you get in your ramen, and the beef is just their normal beef, along with the onion condiments. I think it was quite okay, nothing fantastic, would be better if they had more beef. smile

Desire a whopper?
Cries 2012-03-28

Burger King ( City Hall )
Visited this branch a few weeks ago, and I ordered the whopper jr. meal, which consisted of the burger, fries, and I also changed the soft drink to an iced mocha. I was really disappointed with the meal overall, the burger was just unappetising, and not up to standard, the fries were average, and the drink, oh my goodness, was so sweet, and definitely not worth the $1.50 top up. Not going to visit burger king for a long time ahead.

May's Soon Kueh - Fountain Food Terrace ( City Hall )
I patronise this stall very often, and I always order their delicious meefen with fishcake, vege, and either luncheon meat/egg. However, this time, i decided to try something else, which was their soon kueh, chee cheong fun and yam cake. Their chee cheong fun was good, as it had a nice chewy texture, and the yam cake was very good, as it contained yam chunks that were really yummy, and the sweet sauce was great as well. The soon kueh is a must to order, as it is one of their famous dishes, the skin is very well-made, as it is not thick, and it has a fantastic texture, the fillings inside are doubly good too!

Milk Tea, my love
Smile 2012-03-28

Sharetea ( Yishun )
Drank their milk tea just a few days ago, and it was very good, in fact, from the previous time i drank at their store, they seemed to have improved their milk tea quality. smile Which is why i chose their large cup, and had a great time slurping through the refreshing drink. What's good about it, is that the quality of their milk tea isn't affected when I ask for a low sugar level, like 30%, and is still mighty flavourful. smile The pearls are awesome!

More than Noodles
Smile 2012-03-28

You & Mee Noodle Place ( Thomson )
Came here a few weeks ago, and tried their mee kangkong, which was good, as it had a really good gravy/broth, and the kangkong was crunchy, and the noodles had a pleasant bite to it. It's cute cause you can combine different chillies into your noodle bowl, and they have a guide for you to choose which chilli that suits your bowl of noodle. Had their honey lemon tea, which was pretty good and refreshing.
