PANCAKE  Smile Apr 30, 2012
Categories : Café | Desserts and Cakes

STRICTLY PANCAKE ! Pancake lovers should proceed down to Dhoby Ghuat as they served very awesome pancake. They includes either sweet or savoury choices to allow customer to choose from.

There are total 3 steps to order the choice of your pancake. Firstly, choose the size of your pancake (SMALL, MEDIUM, LARGE). Secondly, choose the seasoning that you want to add flavours too. Thirdly, PERFECT COMPANIONS (OPTIONAL) which costed about $2.50 each.

Their pancake was very soft and warm, you will not regret it lol The staff are also very friendly and approachable.

Bai Sheng Seafood Restaurant  Smile Sep 26, 2011
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Thai | Seafood | Zi Char

It was a great gathering with my friends at Bai Sheng Seafood Restaurant during the weekends. I have been to this Thai restaurant for quite a number of times either for celebration or gathering. lol Whenever we were there for our dinner, we often see quite a number of people waiting for their turn to get a seat. We have to put down one of the representative name and ordered the dishes that we want to eat first. It usually took us about 30 minutes to get a seat (:

The service was speedy as the food served to us was pretty fast. We ordered pineapple fried rice, fried sotong, sambal prawn, lemon chicken and tom yum soup to fill our tummy. There were three of us and we simply have a voracious appetite which we cleared all our dishes with a 'burp'. It was indeed very full and worth the price.
Pineapple Rice

Pineapple Rice

The pineapple rice was fragrant and the rice grain colour was cooked evenly. It was a recommended dish to try it.
Fried Sotong

Fried Sotong

For the fried sotong, the outer surface crust was crispy and inner sotong was soft. When you dip it with the chilli that was provided, you will in love with the tastelol It was not very oily, as they placed vegetable beneath the sotong so as to absorb it.
Sambal Prawn

Sambal Prawn

Any Chilli Lover? This is a spicy sambal prawn. The sauce was a little salty, therefore if you eat together with rice will be the best. The prawn was soft and the chef was very thoughful to help took out the shell of the prawnlol Therefore, you can eat this prawn easily.
Tom Yum Soup

Tom Yum Soup

Yummy Tom Yum Soup. This soup was not oily and it tasted just nice. The taste was spicy and acts with a sour taste. I always love to drink tom yum soup and thus would recommend you guys to try it.
Lemon Chicken

Lemon Chicken

Lastly, lemon Chicken. This lemon chicken was fried and it was served with lemon sauce on top of it. Yummy! The chicken was not that hard and the crust was tasted heavenly.

These 5 dishes that I have tried was well recommended by me. I am sure after looking at the pictures of my food, you must be dripping your siliva bah. tongue That's my end of the review, do enjoy lol

Waraku Japanese Restaurant  Smile Sep 22, 2011
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Japanese | Pasta | Ramen

After quite sometime, I finally met up with some of my Secondary Schoolmates. I am delirously with joy and suggested to have our dinner at Waraku Japanese Restaurant in Clark quay. All of them agreed unanimously as none of them has been there before to eat shocked
We proceeded our way to the restaurant and had sometime in finding it, as we were not so familiar with this shopping centre; ' The Central'. We were all given menu from the waitress after we got a seat right inside the resaurant. The menu was pretty extensive, but all of us ordered either their ramen or udon.
I ordered the chicken curry udon and their presentation really shocked me. A 'GIANT' bowl was served right in front of me with a bigger spoon. I felt that I am living in a 'GIANT WORLD' lol When I first tasted it, I felt nothing. However, the more I eat ,the more I love it. Their udon texture was marvellous and sponginess. Although the bowl was served in large size, they provided us with just the right proportion for 1 person stomach to fill in.
The chicken was chewy and it blended well with the curry (THUMBS UP!) smile And of course, the curry sauce was thick and yummy. I would suggest individual who was fancied about 'CURRY' to try it. I finished up everything that was in my bowl, YUMMY!
However, as for the cream udon it would be a little difficulty in finishing it alone. The sauce was too creamy and it will be hard to really ate it all. lol All the food served to us was excellent. Perhaphs, next time we will be back to try out their side dishes like Grilled butter scallop, Grilled squid, Tofu, Sushi and more. tongue

Hu HU Udon :D  Smile Sep 21, 2011

Categories : Japanese | Restaurant | Kids-Friendly

Together with a group of 5 people, we went to Hu Hu Udon resturant for our dinner. After trying their beef udon soup, I am captivate by it.lol THUMPS UP!

The combination of their udon and the beef soup was heaven. The udon was chewy and firm which makes me can't stop myself from eating. I even went twice within 2 weeks for their udon soup noodle. There were many different varieties to choose from (Hot and Cold Udon). What makes me surprised was that their udon also come along with curry and cream sauce. I found it quite unique and it would be a great experience for people who love curry like my brother or in cream sauce. Among all, the Kaika Udin (Hot Udon with Beef Sukiyaki) at $13.80 would most appeal to me. Their udon price was below the cost of 20 bucks. It was indeed an enjoyable and full dinner to end with. smile

Pho Street Smile Dec 16, 2015
Categories : Vietnamese

Knowing that Vietnamese cuisine has increased momentum in Singapore especially to youngsters and family, Pho Street decided to open its 2 outlets at Westgate and Bedok Mall with an emphasis on the healthy, yet tasty nature of Vietnamese cuisine to attract the crowd. I'm so privileged to be invited by them to try on their new menu.

On their extensive menu, you can get to see their signature Pho (Vietnamese noodles), Bun (Rice Vermicelli), Com (Fragrant rice) and Banh mi. In addition, they also offer wide variety of Vietnamese street snacks such as famous summer roll and fresh pork spring roll.

Let's not wait furthermore, scroll down and check out the delicious food that I tried.

Beverages:

Lemon Cooler with Peppermint & Basil ($3.50) (Left side) and Passionfruit & Basil Mojito ($3.50) (Right side) was refreshing. If I were to pick my favourite out of these two, I will choose Lemon Cooler with Peppermint & Basil as I like the combination better and is less sweet.

Vietnamese Street Snacks:

Fresh Summer Roll (2pcs) - $4.90

The ingredients include vegetables, fresh herbs, prawns, pork belly, rice vermicelli wrapped in rice paper accompanied with their specially created peanut sauce by the Pho Street chef. The fresh vegetables are crunchy and is a total perfect when you dipped it into their sauce. Overall, this food is refreshing and appitizing.

Crispy Fried Chicken Mid-Wings served with Caramelised Sweet Dip (3pcs) - $4.90

In Vietnam, the chicken wings are usually tossed with the sauce before they are served. However, in order to satisfy the majority of the Singaporean tastebud, the caramelised sauce is served as a dipping sauce instead. Anyway this crispy fried chicken was yummy- crisps on the outside and tender inside. They will also fried the chicken only when the order was made to ensure the food is warm when served on the table.

Sesame Rice Crackers with Fragrant Minced Meat and Spices Dip - $6.90

This is my favourite and interesting dish that I've tasted so far!!! The sesame rice crackers specially imported from Vietnam goes perfectly well with their fragrant minced meat and spices dip. And of course, my friend and I finished it up. Yumm~

Vietnamese Snack Platter - $8.90

Left to Right: Crispy Fried Pork Rolls (2pcs), Vietnamese Crabcakes (2pcs),

Roasted Chicken Skewers (2pcs)

Overall the snack platter was delicious. Crabcakes were savoury and yummy.

Mains:

Pho Beef Combination - $9.90

Beef Balls, Beef Slices, Beef Shank, Beef Tendons, Beef Tripe

Overall, the Pho Beef combination broth is warm, lightly-sweet and tasty. Oh yah, before eating it remember to squeeze the lime to give the extra flavour.

Roasted Pork Chop with Fragrant Rice - $7.90

The fragrant rice together with the sauce and garlic is superb! However, as for the pork chop, I felt that it's a little tough for me.

Vietnamese Dessert:

Cream of Mung Bean with Coconut Sauce & Crushed Peanuts - $3.50

My first time trying it. The taste is unique but definitely good and filling. You have to try it when you are there (:
