Jack's Place ( West Coast )
Went there together with my family with vouchers. My father commented that Jack's Place in West Cost Recreation Centre is very different from other outlets. it is one of the oldest restaurants. I strongly agreed, it is there since 20 years i guess, or even more. I celebrated my 10th year old birthday there. the sizzling hot plate is nice, i had my combo. I don't like lamb, there i opt for fish. the serving is huge. it is too full for me, but as compare to the outlet at bukit panjang, i like the cosy environment.

Nice and Cheap Porridge
Smile 2013-05-04
Ye Shang Hai Teochew Porridge ( Bukit Merah )
here is one of my favourite supper hangout whenever i was in town - late night. it is just a 20min drive from my workplace. situated at the main road facing henderson secondary school, you will never fail to see taxis parking around. it is one of the main hot spot voted by taxi drivers. the dishes are quite cheap. i order 6 dishes at the price of less than 10 dollars. Well-recommended for night supper.

Egg Benedict
Smile 2012-07-31
Antoinette ( Lavender )

We ordered the Eggs Benedict ($16) and Brioche French Toast ($15), hoping that the taste and quality of the food would put the smiles back on our faces after the not-so-nice time we were having so far. H had the former and said it was standard fare. My Brioche French Toast was a let-down. The Brioche was dense and heavy. The egg batter coating was thin and the maple syrup was the sort that never saw the inside of a tree. Personally, I thought there was neither wafting fragrance nor visual seduction with the food here.

The Clan Restaurant ( Chinatown )

Nestled in the historic hundred- over years old Gan Clan Association building along Bukit Pasoh Road, Motivated to serve creative and contemporary delicacies coming from familiar recipes and newfangled matchings that might just take one’s breath away, the plates are executed and cooked using modern methods such as sous vide and dehydration. The Clan strongly encourages their diners to opt for their five- course (for dinner, six- course) degustation set- meals that provide for both the best value and gastronomical experience at affordable prices. Earl Grey Cured Tuna with Lavender Scented Fruit Salsa and Orange Basil Emulsion; lightly scented by the other ingredients, the tuna slices were certainly delectable. Not only did they fare well in the textural department, I took pleasure in how the symphony of sweet and salty notes mingled together on the palate, even more so when dipped into the Emulsion as provided alongside.

Tajimaya Yakiniku ( Telok Blangah )

Ambience was great, service was prompt. Generally a good experience but not worth the value if you are there for BBQ. If I did not have vouchers given to me I would not have tried out the place.

I took the Kurotabo Pork set for 2 and additional Pork Collar and Wagyu(can't recall which part).

Wagyu was tasty but the pork tasted common.

Spent about $60+/person. Would rather go to a good Korean BBQ restaurant.

Siam Kitchen ( Choa Chu Kang )

I might be biased because I just returned from a two week holiday in Phuket, where even the most ramshackle food stall makes really tasty Thai food.

But I frequent this place often, out of convenience as I live nearby. Unfortunately, the food here is just not tasty. As such, I have a duty to warn food lovers.

As per my recent takeaway order -

Vegetable tom yum - not tasty, tastes like instant tom yum of some sort.

Ember ( Chinatown )

What I craved most is the Homemade Crispy Tofu
I’ve came across many reviews raving how marvelously well done this dish was crafted with its excellent balanced robust flavors. While I really enjoyed the homemade tofu which had a silken, melt in your mouth texture, fried to a gorgeous golden brown with a batter of perfect consistency that wasn’t too heavy or soggy. The only grip was that the mirin sauce proved to be on the heavy side, while the infusion of truffle oil evoked distinct and robust flavors that were pleasant on the first few mouthfuls but got somewhat one dimensional after a while.

3 Inch Sin ( City Hall )

Popped by 3 Inch Sin for dessert, and tried two dishes.

(1) Hazelnut Molten Lava Cake

This was absolutely fantastic. The warm, rich, intense melt-in-your-mouth lava was to die for. Though it was a tad too sweet (do share it with someone instead of getting one on your own), this is still definitely worth ordering!

(2) Chamomile Dream Tea

Pretty good complement with the Hazelnut Molten Lava Cake, since it took away some of the sweetness.

Would definitely pop by to try some of their pizzas, sausages and coffee another time.

Ramen Ten/ Shin Tokyo Sushi ( Clementi )

I was there on last Saturday with my 3 friends, we were using the vouchers for their sushi buffet, the lunch time was quite crowded(luckily we made the reservation earlier). We were sitting far from the sushi refill station, so some of the popular sushis were taken away by other customers before reach to us. Hence, we asked the staff whether we can get the those sushis from them, they were very helpful and got back to us with some of their top seller sushis. Even the promotion includes of Ice-green tea but we also order the Chocolate Freeze and Mango Freeze, it is really nice, must try it!! For those non-buffet eaters please go for their Tom Yum Seafood Ramen.

B. Bakery ( Arab Street )

Cute little outfit in a lovely location, B Bakery seems to be popular with foodies. I first discovered this place several years ago and bought something that's a cross between a chocolate butter cookie and a wafer which was heavenly, but they never made it again because - I was told - they only make stuff as and when they "feel like it". To me, this is a clear indicator that not only are the owners vain and self-absorbed, they see the cafe/bakery as a vessel for their "performance" and are not interested in making customers happy. They ought to realise that this is a grossly misrepresented attitude of top chefs or celebrity chefs, and that these days

Food Republic ( Somerset )
This hawker stall still had a queue of 10 people at 5.5 after lunch hours were over. This contrasted with the surrounding stalls where the queues were virtually non-existent. This, together, the the orderly display of the yong tau foo with the filling filled to the brim, enticed me to my lunch here. I queued for about 20 minutes with 10 in front of me before I got mine served.

Sumo Salad ( Holland )

Ordered a sandwich and made my way to the payment. My bill was around $7 and I gave the manager a $50 note. She asked if I have a smaller note in quite a rude tone and when I said no. the wrap tt I have is so-so only, bit off soggy. I love their salad but the wrap is not really nice. They provide deliciously healthy menu including salads, wraps and sandwiches use the highest quality ingredients to provide you with a healthy.

Wang Café ( Dhoby Ghaut )

I was extremely fatigued... I came here with RL so that i can get a cup of Kopi-C in order to revitalise myself to play the night away.
I do not like drinking coffee and i only drink it to wake myself up during the working place or when I’m so sleepy. The Kopi-C was great... plenty of evaporated milk and not too sweet. It was also piping hot... just the way I like my beverage.

I will return again for a cup of Teh-C someday.
