Pizza!

Loui's NY Pizza Parlour ( Sentosa )
My friends and I went to Universal Studios to enjoy our holidays and decided to dine here for dinner while waiting for Hollywood After Hours.

Even before stepping in to Loui's NY Pizza Parlour we were smelling the aroma of the pizza. No doubt, when we stepped in, the entire place was filled with the smell of pizzas!
The place feels like a copy-&-paste image from a typical American pizza parlour we see in a movie, and the furniture gave me the 70's feel.

We ordered 3 set meals (which includes a slice of pizza, a drink and a dessert). We had Hawaiian and Pepperroni. The dessert-of-the-day was some sort of vanilla custard with strawberries on top. If you're a vanilla and custard fan, the dessert would suit your preferrence for sure.
The pizza was so big (bigger than an average size palm!), so it definitely filled my empty stomach after having the entire meal.

The meal cost $13.80, so it was pretty average for a meal like this in USS. (Well, if you have intended to go to USS, I suppose paying $13.80 for a meal was expected and isn't that much right....? tongue)

Overall, BRAVO! lol

Delicious desserts on a hot hot day!
Smile 2012-03-31
Gelare Cafe ( Woodlands )
Was shopping around Causeway Point with my family and had the sudden craving for something chilling. Coincidentally, we walked pass Gelare and decided to have desserts there.

The new environment is rather cramp because of the limited amout of space that they have. Still, their furnitures are well furnished, stylish and comfortable. It is definitely relaxing to enjoy desserts there with your loved ones.

The price is acceptable as well. It cost $19.35 for 2 scoop ice-cream with waffle and passion fruit float. Passion fruit was rather unique for me as I've never stumbled upon such a drink before. We paid using POSB Mastercard, so there is a 10% discount.

The service was prompt, and the waiter is friendly when attending to our queries and needs. The cashier at the counter inform us of the best offer as well. That was how we know of the discount for POSB Mastercard users.

Overall satisfaction was definitely satisfying! lol

Nasi Lemak
Smile 2012-03-19
Tian Tian Lai Nasi Lemak ( Woodlands )
They definitely serve delicious Nasi Lemak at an affordable price!

It is an irony though, the name of the stall, in English, is translated as "Nasi Lemak everyday", however, the stall do not open daily. Being a regular customer (as I stay near the hawker centre), I realised that there's a pattern - the stall owner will be opened for business for 2 days, then close for a day. So, if you are really interested in trying do be prepared that it may not be opened on the day you visit!

For your convenience, the stall owner have set their menu into lunch sets. A total of 12 sets, you can choose from the variety mixed for you, at the same time you may change certain things off the set to something else. For example, Set 6 has a fried chicken wing, cabbage and an egg. You may trade the chicken wing to drumstick if you prefer that, or you can change the cabbage to some other vegetables, or the egg to another dish or you may request to have the egg fully cooked.
What I usually do is to order the set that I want and just change whatever dishes that I want to change.
You can also order the specific dish that you want. For example, the dishes that you want are drumstick, cabbage, otah and egg, and the combination that you want is not available on the set menu that the stall owner came up with. You can always tell the boss lady what you want, and she'll still serve it. The chili is not very spicy, and it is home-made.

The place can be located conveniently, just a 5-minute walk from the bus stop near to Woodlands Checkpoint. There are a lot of buses that you can take from Woodlands Bus Interchange to reach that bus stop - 913, 912, 911, 903, 856. Other buses like 178 and 950 passes by as well, but it is not available from Woodlands Bus Interchange as they both head to Boon Lay Bus Interchange and JB Kota Raya before turning back and passing by that bus stop.

There are ample parking spaces as well, it is charged so do make sure that you have inserted your cashcard into the EU.

Haagen Dazs
Smile 2012-03-19
Häagen-Dazs ( Orchard )
It was on one of the weekdays during Christmas week where my friends and I decided to chill out in town.

Located next to Orchard MRT station, it is easily accessible and there are linkways from the station itself. So there's no need to worry about getting drench if it's raining.

We got tired of window shopping and decided to find a spot to sit down and chat. When we passed by Haagen Dazs, we had a sudden craving for ice cream and decided to have some. We ordered Chocolate Fondue, and since it was the Christmas season, they have 4 mini-Santas place on the plate as well.

   Chocolate Fondue! :)

There are 4 flavours of ice cream, and there are 4 scoops each per flavour. Fruits like strawberries, kiwi and bananas, marshmallows and brownies are included as well. We were also given 2 toppings - rainbow rice and almond bits.
The chocolate is thick and creamy, and the amount was definitely more than enough for all the ice cream, fruits and tidbits.

This was only available during Christmas as it was a special menu. However, during non-festive season, there is still Chocolate Fondue as well, just that the flavours of ice cream are different.

The environment was peaceful, and it is indeed a great place for friends to gather and just chill. The service provided is excellent.

Sushi Tei

Sushi Tei ( Telok Blangah )
One of the most popular Japanese food chains in Singapore, it is definitely worth visiting the branch at Vivo City.

Vivo City has ample parking spaces. If you don't drive, you can always choose to hop on the train via North-South line or Circle line and alight at HarbourFront Station.

My friend and I visited the restaurant at around 4 in the afternoon for tea break. We were brought to the table next to the glass window, where we get to enjoy a magnificent view of the sea in between mainland and Sentosa, and of course, Sentosa itself.

The serving time was short, and the quality of food is superb.
[The serving time may fluctuate depending on the time you visit the restaurant. We visited during the non-peak hour. Passed by the restaurant once where it was during dinner time, so do be prepared to expect longer queue during peak hours.]
We ordered Salmon Belly Misoshiru, Ebi Tempura, Salmon Avocado Temaki and Salmon with Teriyaki sauce.
All the food prepared are wonderful and great in taste. The appearance of the dishes are no doubt excellent as well.

The crew members are friendly as well, they also know their products well and were able to answer our questions about the menu.

Overall, one of the best Japanese food that I've tasted so far as compared to other Japanese restaurants in Singapore. lol

Marche

Marché ( Somerset )
Ever since my first visit to the restaurant, I've been mesmerized by the decorations and the layout of the entire space. So I can make it a point to visit once every month with my family or friends.

Not only that, Marche never fails to provide what's best for their customers.
Upon arriving at the entrance, you will be able to smell the aroma of the pastries from the bakery. Along the stairs, there are interactive decorations on the shelves and the walls that made you feel that you are not in Singapore.

You will then be greeted by one of the crew members, where he/she will provide you with a card. When you place your orders, you will need the card so that the orders will be processed and recorded in the system.

There are a lot of food to choose from. My favourites are namely Roasted Chicken Crepe, Rosti with Sour Cream and White Chocolate Ice Cream from Movenpick.

Roasted Chicken Crepe made it to my favourites list because of its overall taste. The nicely done crispy crepe together with the juicy roasted chicken is a perfect match. Additional toppings such as mushrooms and cheese are available as well. Topping up with the creamy mushroom sauce, that will be the best match of all!lol

Rosti with Sour Cream is the most basic dish available from the Rosti menu. You can always choose to top it up with the different type of sausages or salmon.

White Chocolate Ice Cream from Movenpick is no doubt one of the nicest ice cream I've tried (perhaps it's because I have a thing for white chocolate). It hasn't been available for quite some time though.

Overall, LOVE THIS PLACE!lol
