Komala's ( Raffles Place )
Since I work at Raffles place, I go to Komal'a for an evening tea sometimes. I order their Masal tea, which is a teh C bolied with various spices like cardamom, cinnamon, ginger etc. It is strong, the flavours are relly loud, the sugar level is perfect & it is super refreshing, after a tiring day, especially if you wat to drive away your afternoon lethargy it is just waht you need. I have tried other teas at Lau Pa Sat, but I can vouch that You will never regret trying out the Masala Tea at Komalas. Simply amazing.

yummy fish burger
Smile 2012-07-30

Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen ( Pasir Ris )
I recently went to Popeyes for lunch with a friend, I looked at their impressive menu & then, I ordered for a fish burger, corn & mashed potato for sides. T fish burger is a rectangular diamond shaped one, the bread is really soft, the fish fillet is so crispy from outside & well cooked & juicy inside. I thought it was a very good fish burger. It had some jalapeños, tomatoes, onions & tarter sauce inside. The corn & mash potato were normal, nothing

great. But the Popeyes Fish burger was the best!!!!!

Namaste India ( Little India )
My Wife & I went to Namaste India for a veg dinner, since we have been there before. We quickly ordered for a Veg Korma & some aloo parata which is a potato stuff prata. The Veg Kofta was great, it was a thick creamy gravy made with cream & cashew nut paste, it was rich. It had veggies like green peas, potato, carrot, cauli flower & french beans. It wasn't too spicy. It went perfectly with the aloo (potato) Prata. We enjoyed our veg meal at Namaste India.

Turkish Kebab ( Jurong East )
I was in Jurong & saw Turkish Kebab, that made me instantly decide to have a Shawarma. Having lived in the middle east & living on Shawarmas, I love it & miss it here. So this was the opportunity to eat one after a very long time. It was a lovely wrap, made of Kaboos (arabic bread). with a filling of chicken, lettuce, olives, tomatoes, onions. I asked the staff to be generous with humus (arabic dip made of chick peas). Oh, it was heavenly & took me back to my days in the middle east.

Each-A-Cup ( Clementi )
As we were out shopping, we stopped by our favourite Each A Cup for a snow shake. I ordered for a coconut snow shake, while my wife ordered for a chocolate snow shake. I ordered it cold, while she ordered it hot. It costs just 2.5 $. The cold coconut snow shake was lovely. It has cereal blended in it. It is rightly sweet & has pieces of coconut. The pearls too were chewy & soft. Te chocolate snow shake was good too, but would taste better hot. We love Each a Cup teas & shakes a lot.

TOAST BOX ( Choa Chu Kang )
My wife & I are super duper fans of the milo available at Toast box, we love it both, Hot as well as cold. We were in Yew tee on evening & had dropped by a friends place, on our way back we stopped to pick up a hot Milo from Toast box. The Milo at toast box is rightly sweet, chocolaty, hot, milky & just PERFECT. Its rich!!!! I haven't had better Milo than the one at Toast Box Singapore. The Iced Milo at Toast Box has alot of Ice though, but the hot milo is just right in every way.

KFC ( Hougang )
I was on my way home from work & was wanting to surprise my wife and was thinking what to buy her that evening, just then I spotted KFC & remembered that she loves their egg tarts, I was so happy & immediately went & bought 2 egg tarts for both of us. We just feasted on egg tarts in Macau & the KFC egg tarts are very similar to the ones in Macau. The crust is crispy from the outside & it is soft & nice from inside & the mild sweetness adds to the goodness of the egg tart. The egg tarts are well bakes & have a lovely golden brown colour.

Awesome Paella
Smile 2012-07-30

Marché ( Telok Blangah )
Marche is known for its lovely swiss ambience, with a cute green cow outside the restaurant. I had a friend in town & to take him out to dinner, I thought of going to Marche. It is a very casual dining setup , having loads of juices & fresh/ healthy foods. I ordered for A pealla. Paella is a spanish rice delicacy. I ordered for a seafood paella & a beetroot juice. It arrived in a few minutes. The portion isn't that great, but it is really tasty & worth the price. It was well cooked, has a generous amount of prawns, squids, fish, tomato, onions...I could also get the aroma of rosemary, basil. It was garnished with Coriander which is my favourite herb.

The spices were very subtly used. I enjoyed every spoon of it along with a good conversation with a dear friend. Im looking forward to take my wife there again to try out the paella at Marche.

Yummy chocolate cake

Bengawan Solo ( Clementi )
It was our firend's daughters birthday party & we were invited. So My friend asked me to pick up the cake they had ordered for from Bengawan solo at Clementi Mall. Since the birthday girl is just 4 years, she is a great Snow white fan, so the cake had a Disney pic of snow white. It was a 2 Kg Chocolate ganache cake. The cake costed 30 $ per Kg. The kids couldn't wait till the cake was cut. It was a lovely dark chocolate cake, layered with a thick layer of ganache filling. It had 3 layers. It was utterly soft, smooth in texture, perfectly smooth & sooo chocolaty. It was fun to watch the kids enjoying the cake. The adults enjoyed it too. I have tried Bengawan solo cakes before & they are really good.

Azmi Restaurant ( Little India )
Passing by this simple restaurant called Azmi's in Little India & seeing so many people eating Kheema chapati, we thought we should try this too. We ordered for mutton, keema (mince) and the reaturant's special "Azmi chapatis". The stuff was really delicious -- Hot and spicy. The chapatis were freshly made and tender. Now we know why so many people flock here to have their meals. Tasty and delicious and value for money !!!

McDonald's ( Ang Mo Kio )
After dinner, we were looking for some dessert to satisfy our sweet tooth. We picked up a strawberry sundae from Mcdonalds. We are fans of the chocolate sundae and for a change we decided to try strawberry this time. It was yummy -- Soft vanilla ice cream & crushed stawberries in strawberry sauce. We mixed the ice cream & the Strawberries and it tasted even better. We are fans of McDonald's desserts and this one is surely value for money smile

McCafe ( Orchard )
Once evening after dinner, we were in the mood for some hot coffee and happened to be passing by a Mccafe and decided to have a hot cup of Latte. As always, The latte was really good and on par with the big brands of coffee. It was rich, creamy & strong and as always, we were just fascinated by the coffee art as we watched the staff decorate our coffee smile. We enjoyed every sip of out latte, one of our favourites at Mccafe and a must try for all.

Thirst quencher
Just OK 2012-07-29

Namaste India ( Little India )
Walking by Namaste India in Farrer Park, spotted the restaurant's little Kiosk that sells chaats juices etc. Noticed someone having a blue colour drink and as it looked fascinating and as we were thirsty decided to try it out. The name is Blue berry drink and probably made of non-alcoholic curacao diluted with water and soda. It is sweet drink, however doesn't have any flavor of blue berry. Great to look at but the taste could surely be improved upon. Surely a thirst quencher though.

McCafe ( Orchard )
We happened to see Choco Melts at a McCafe recently and this was off their menu few since some months. Not thinking twice we ordered, as it used to be among our favorite desserts. The melts as always were awesome and were like small donuts with hot chocolate sauce over them. They were soft & soaked in chocolate as we ate them. We enjoyed every bit of our dessert since we had just had a spicy meal else where. Sad that these are only brought back temporarily.

Dessert only

Nando's ( Bugis )

We are big fans of the choco rolls available at Nando's & sometimes visit Nando's only to have their Choco rolls.
They are basically chilled chocolate rolls made of chocolate & biscuit & dusted with some icing sugar. 3 pieces are served in a plate. They taste more like kit kat. It is slightly over priced though. It costs about 6 $ for 3 pieces. However, its a real sweetner after a spicy & sumptous meal. I would like to recommend this dessert from Nando's to everyone. Its worth trying.
