Sucky service, lousy rice Cry Oct 31, 2013
Share on TwitterShare on Facebook
Categories : Hainanese | Hawker Centre | Chicken Rice

I wonder why there's still a long queue over at this stall. This is the last time I'm eating it. I queued because I thought it'd be delicious since people were queuing. Turns out, it wasn't.

While the chicken meat was rather chewy, the rice sucks. It tasted hard, and was not properly cooked - you can taste uncooked rice in it.

Another irony is the signboard which puts "BONELESS". I'd assume the chicken were boneless, but I spitted out a few bones -.-'''

What's worse is the service attitude of the auntie. She would shout "HELLO" (please, it's not saying hi to you), and when you tell her your order, she seem so unhappy. I wasn't the only one who felt that her service sucks, people behind were complaining to. Tsk, never coming here again.

$2.50 - cheapest lor mee around OK Oct 31, 2013

Categories : Singaporean Chinese | Hawker Centre | Noodles

At $2.50, this may be the cheapest lor mee around.
Although, it used to be $2 la.

While there was a queue (not that long today), the queue moved rather fast.
Got my bowl within a while.

Downside was the uncle didn't provide me with a plate holder - I didnt ask for it also la, since he was so busy.

The lor mee was not bad.
IMO, it's not the best i've eaten - I just thought it was slightly above average.

The gravy was good enough, along with the vinegar, garlic and chilli (not spicy).

MSG makes me thirsty OK Oct 29, 2013
Categories : Hawker Centre | Noodles

I ordered the Yi Mee from this stall at $2.50.
One of the cheapest food in this hawker centre.

Here are the Pros:

- cheap bowl at $2.50
- decent amount with egg and generous meat balls

Here are the Cons:
- It felt like there's a lot of msg in this bowl
- makes me feel very thirsty and sick after eating this; had to drink a lot of water.
- there's still a lingering after-taste in my throat.

Long Q - worth it? OK Oct 25, 2013

Fish slice beehoon, porridge or rice has always been my comfort food when I'm feeling unwell.
Today, I'm feeling okay, but was craving for something less oily.
Luckily, a friend help to queue for me haha
He waited for 15 minutes.

Anyway, their Q is forever long.
But you knw - got Q in Singapore, means this stall is good.

I think I'm quite a good critic of fish slice soup because I've tried manyyy different stalls.
For $5, I don't know if the pricing is reasonable...
The rice is little.
The soup is normal, felt like there's quite some MSG.
People say the soup is really fresh, but er....I drank better.
The only good thing I can think of is their generous slices of fish = which then again, duh, you paid $5 please.

I've to say their fish slices is good.
Not thin, and not tough.
Very easy to chew.

Generally, a slightly above average meal la.

I'm gonna try Piao Ji next time and compare~

Nice chilli sauce OK Oct 24, 2013

This is my first try at this stall.
At $3.50, this kway chap is decent.
To be honest, there's a smell that I hate to love; but I still embrace this kway chap.

I ordered a mixed - there's fishcake, intestines and etc.
"I wonder why there's no pig skin", said my colleague.
It seems like pig skin is not available today?
I love pig skin, so it seems a little disappointing.

I think the kway chap, on the whole, is decent - salty enough (but probably a little too salty for my liking).
I wish to highlight that their chilli sauce is good; it was filled with garlic and the sauce was a little sour as well as a little spicy.

Not a bad choice
