Hong Kong Cuisine Smile Jun 23, 2013

Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong

Went to this Central Hong Kong Cafe with my family members after shopping at Jurong Point. We ordered several items which includes the tomato pork chop rice, prawn dumpling noodle, sweet sauce chicken and lastly peanut thick toast.

Firstly, the tomato pork chop rice has a nicely cooked pork chop, tender texture and goes well with the tomato sauce. Apart from the pork chop, other ingredients includes egg and tomato.
Next, the sweet sauce chicken is also well presented. The chicken is sufficiently cooked, soft and tender texture. As for the sauce, it is not too sweet and is well seasoned and goes well with the chicken.

As for the prawn dumpling noodle, it come with a simple presentation. The noodle is very well cooked, has a soft and QQ texture. As for the prawn dumplings, it fillings is fresh which consist of a medium sized prawn, sliced mushroom and some mu er. Soup wise is very light and refreshing and is not oily.

Lastly, the peanut thick toast is spread with a thin layer of the crunchy peanut on top of the toast. As for the toast, it has a soft texture with a very slight crisp on the side. However, I think that the thickness of the toast is a bit too thick.
Overall, quite a tasty Hong Kong style food and a affordable price. lol

Pizza Smile Jun 23, 2013

What a delight to find a western stall selling pizza at the newly opened cook house at Jem. After looking through their menu, decided to go for the hawaiian pizza with the cream of mushroom soup. For the hawaiian pizza, it is well baked, crispy crust on the outer part and the fresh ingredients used for the fillings. Sufficient cheese was added with the other fillings and the nice aroma of the cheese can be detected when eating the pizza. As for the cream of mushroom soup, it has a smooth texture, with a nice fragrance mushroom aroma and can be used as a dip for the hawaiian pizza as well. Price wise is quite reasonable at around $10.80.

Brought a plate of the nasi lemak from this stall for breakfast. This set of nasi lemak includes the traditional side dishes which is the chicken wings, ikan billis, egg and cucumber. Firstly, the rice is well cooked, soft and fluffy and is fragrance and has a light coconut and pandan flavour. As for the chicken wings, it is well marinated and deep fried, slight crispy skin and not too oily. Overall quite a tasty plate of nasi lemak.

Honey Aloe Vera Smile Jun 23, 2013

Decided to buy the honey aloe vera drink to cool my body down during a hazy and hot weather. The honey aloe vera drink is very light and refreshing, and the aloe vera used is fresh and crunchy. The drink itself is not too sweet nor bland, and the amount of ice given is sufficient to keep the drink cold and also not make the drink too diluted. Other than this honey aloe vera drink, Sharetea also have other variety of drinks made available for customers to choose from.
