Fried noodles OK Aug 05, 2013
Categories : Food Court | Noodles

This stall seems to have a long queue so and I think it will be good to try and see what's the rave about! I ordered the seafood fried noodles ($6.80) as the person infront of me ordered the beef one and I thought it looks really good!! The noodles are cooked on the spot when ordered.

However, the noodles looked and smelled good but the taste wasn't that great. It tasted rather salty to me. It just seems like a lot of black soy sauce was used to cook this plate of noodles. But one good thing is that there's quite a lot of vegetables and it took some saltiness away. There's fishcake and prawns as well. The prawns are quite fresh and nice though.

Katong Laksa OK Jul 29, 2013
Categories : Coffeeshop | Noodles

Cost about $4 per bowl, what's special about katong laksa as compared to other laksa probably is 1) their gravy 2) their thick bee hoon is cut into smaller pieces therefore chopstick is not need to eat the bee hoon. As bee hoon at the usual length sometimes might give issue due to the "slippery-ness" of it causing it to slip easliy through the grip of the chopstick and splash onto your shirt.

personally I don't eat hum(cockles) therefore I will usually request without it.

I used to patronise many years back where my friends and I always dine there after trainings. With the current visit, I would say the standard is not as good as before, my personal observation would be that the gravy have turn thinner and it's not as tasty as years before.

Manhattan Fish and Chip OK Jul 29, 2013
Categories : American | Seafood | Halal | Kids-Friendly

Fish and Chips? or Craving for fishy stuffs in Jurong East? Then this could be one of the choice in you list, its located in Jcube all the way up at the top near the cinema.

The dish came about estimated 20mins upon ordering, probably due to that we visited it during peak hours. I would say good to the fish and chip, come with salads and fries. However the presence of the sauce on the fish and chip make the crust and fries nearby soggy after awhile. So do not take too long to eat upon serving. Like many fried foods, some people might get sick of eating it after awhile, so if you have friends you can probably order different kinds of mains and share/ split around.

Lunch @ Han's  Smile Jul 29, 2013

If you are out with big groups and looking for a fair variety of local to western delicacies then Hans can be one of your choice. Through their menu the ranged from curry chicken, fried rice, hor fun... to sandwiches, burgers, chicken chop, grilled fish... do note that lunch menu is only available after 1130, before that they have western breakfast.

The chicken chop set comes along with soup, garlic bread and drink @ $11.80. The chicken chop was tender and tasty, served with baby carrots and wedges. do check out the soup! it's one of my favourite! it's really nice I would say.

Dessert at pontian OK Jul 29, 2013
Categories : Noodles

Dessert with my friends at pontian as one of them was craving for "ah bao ling" aka glutinous balls soup. which ended group of us having that. You can have the choice of ginger soup/ sugar soup, for people who love the fragrant spice taste of ginger you can choose the ginger soup. the cost of the soup is $2 with quite a amount of glutinous balls.

However I would say that the downside of the shop would probably be too cramp to accommodate large group (8 and above) as the design is a T shaped design which kind off make the alley quite squeezy.
