Both hubby and I are big fans of Chinese soup. Attracted by the different pots of soup placed along the entrance, we've walked in to the restaurant.
We have ordered a pig stomach soup, 肉餅,金銀蛋莧菜and pumpkin rice.
One little pot of soup can serve 5 rice bowls which is sufficient for 2 ppl. It's hot enough and very tasty. You can tell this has been cooked long enough with plenty of ingredient. If you also eat the ingredient of Chinese soup, you'll be happy as they serve plenty with the soup.
The other foods are just good especially the pumpkin rice.
After leaving home for a while, this stuff just give us a sense of home. We'll definitely be coming back regularly.

Delicious soup! Smile Dec 04, 2013

Categories : Coffeeshop | Chicken Rice

This is one of the store inside the food court of Katong Shopping Centre. There's always a long queue here but luckily, I didn't have to queue up this time as it was already 8pm.
Paying for S$4.5, you'll have a nice set with plenty of chicken, chicken rice, chicken veggie soup and free flow of salad (made by carrot, cucumber and some other veggie with a sour dressing). Personally, I think the chicken served here is better then that of Boon Txxx Kxx.
Both hubby and I love the soup the most. The soup served with chicken rice is usually plain chicken soup but in this little store, a lot of veggie has been added into the soup which make it much more tasty and rich. So, don't forget about the soup when you come!

Sorry but I prefer the HK style OK Dec 04, 2013

Categories : Singaporean Chinese | Noodles

This is named as the best laksa in SG but again, I guess I might have set my expectation too high for it.
Different from what we can have in HK where you can choose to have different food for the laksa, this one only got different size (SML), with clams or without clams. So, you don't really need to read the menu. After ordering the food, another guy will come to you to take your order for drinks. They are from two separate stores and so, it's useless for you to talk to the laksa guy about drink or the drink guy for laksa. And once they bring you the foods/drinks, you'll have to pay to that guy immediately.
So, for the laksa, the soup is tasty. It's just a little bit spicy which is good for me who can't stand spicy food. For other spicy friend, you can add some chili yourself. There're bit and piece of seafood inside the soup which form the base of the laksa but main point is the soup.
To be honest, I don't really think it's worthy of traveling for a long way to eat (i've seen tourist coming here with their luggages). After all, I'd prefer the laksa served in those restaurants in HK which come with abundant of seafood on top of the noodle.

A wonderful brunch Smile Dec 04, 2013

Attracted by the very nice deco of the restaurant, we've chosen to have our Saturday's brunch here. The waiter (might be the boss I guess) was very friendly. He has explained to us the meaning of their logo and briefly introduced the food.
I've ordered egg benedict with salmon and hubby has also had egg benedict but with bacon.
My dish was completely covered with smoked salmon which I couldn't really finish on my own. Food are all fresh and tasty.
With the large cup of coffee and my beloved, I've had a satisfactory and relaxing brunch here which has brighten up my day.

Have been there twice for dinner. Decent western dishes are served here. Quality is very stable.
My favorite is the beef (I don't remember the name but there should only be one beef for the main course). And the coconut pandan shake is a must try. It's very "singapore". 😃
Needless to say, you can't complete your meal without trying their dessert as everyone knows it's famous for its chocolate. I suggest you going out to take a look of the desserts placed in the open kitchen before you order. You'll know which one to order once you see it. It's like love by the first sight.
The cupcake is different from the other cupcake. It's mainly made with choco mouse which is best to serve with other dessert like brownie or apple crumble. The choco layer cake (again, don't remember its name) is also very yummy. I seldom see this elsewhere.
Unfortunately, having been distracted by the lovely food, I forgot to take photos for most of the dish.
Gotta come again for just the dessert so that I can eat more!
