Poh Piah
Smile 2012-03-26

Fu Chang Shi Pin ( Bugis )

The poh piah here is really good! Thanks to my friend's recommendation, I got to try it for myself. Their poh piah sauce is well blended with a mix of vegetable ingredients..especially the dried shrimps and veggies which were really crunchy. This poh piah tastes different from the usual ones because they have added garlic into it..for those who don't take garlic, remember to tell the auntie to exclude them! The garlic taste is quite strong together with the chili sauce..

Bunnies Bread
Smile 2012-03-26

Bunnies ( Chinatown )

I had to run an errand at Chinatown and passed by this bakery shop. Their buns are really cute and miniature in size. I bought their chocolate and yam flavors to try. The shop auntie charged me extra 10 cents for the box packaging though. It is best to eat the buns straightaway as they are very soft and fresh. The fillings in the buns are also very warm and sweet. Comes in a pack of 6 and costs $1.30 only..very reasonably priced.

Potato Bread
Smile 2012-03-25

Barcook Bakery ( Raffles Place )
I was recently obsessed with the breads at Barcook Bakery. Their breads are really fresh and warm from the oven. I bought a potato bun which was worth queuing up for! The mixture of potato and cheese was simply perfect. The orange cheese was like oozing out from the already soft mashed potato and the taste was really heavenly. I would go back there again for my bread cravings.

Honey Green Tea
Smile 2012-03-17

Eskimo ( Marina Bay )

My colleagues and I decided to order some bubble tea and we chose Eskimo because of their convenient delivery options. I settled for a honey green tea with aloe vera bits. The drink was chilled and refreshing. Also, they are very generous with their aloe vera bits, slightly more than what the usual bubble tea stalls provide. The aloe vera bits were juicy and crunchy and the drink was sweet enough although I ordered 0% sugar. Its really honey flavored.

Rosti
Smile 2012-03-17

Marché ( Somerset )

Last weekday, my friends and I decided to go to marche for dinner. The food there are generally expensive but it is very nice. After hearing that they are known for their rosti, I decided to give it a try. The rosti was indeed yummy, topped with fresh sour cream (which was not very sour). I liked how they cooked the rosti, a little bit crispy and it tastes close to a hash-brown. Its a nice place to have your western food.

Mushroom Hor Fun
Smile 2012-03-04

Ipoh Hor Fun ( Raffles Place )
Being a fan of mushrooms, I decided to try their mushroom horfun. Costs something like $3.80 per plate. The queue during lunch hour was quite long but it was worth the wait. Their mushrooms had a delightful taste, together with their generous brown gravy..not too heavy for a lunch meal and it is simply delicious. Will try their other hor fun flavors soon!

Yu Sheng
Smile 2012-03-04

Pin Si Restaurant ( Yishun )
Was here for a meal of yusheng with my family. The restaurant was very quiet, only occupied by a few tables. The yusheng we ordered was fresh and tasty. There was lime added to give the dish a more appetizing taste. Also, we ordered a plate of crabmeat ee-mian. It was something different from the zi char we outside. The noodles had bits of beaten egg and crab meat slices..a very yummy dish.

Bunnies
Smile 2011-12-11

Bunnies ( Chinatown )
This food kiosk sells many cute mini buns. I was recommended by my friend to try out their buns and there was a long queue when I got there. Ranging from many flavors, I chose their chocolate mini buns which came in a pack of six. Their buns are soft, fluffy and fresh from the oven. For $1.60 a pack, I am definitely going back to try their other flavors.

Buffet
Smile 2011-11-09

Open House ( Orchard )
After watching a food channel, my friends and I decided to check this place out for buffet lunch. Their price is quite reasonable and the location makes it convenient for the most of us. They have six stations in total: roasted meat, noodle, claypot, dimsum, pizza and desserts. My favorite station was the pizzas because they were baked upon request. The teriyaki chicken pizza was crisp and nice, very suitable for people who are japanese-food lovers; like me! Also, we shared a seafood & tofu claypot, which was really fragrant and tasty. The rest of the dishes were just average.

Buffet Lunch
Smile 2011-11-09

Spices Cafe ( Somerset )
My family and I are basically big eaters and we decided to try out this buffet after random sourcing over the internet. The cafe is located at Concorde Hotel with a very classic backdrop for an excellent meal. The spread includes peranakan cuisine, japanese and american delights. I was overall quite pleased with the food variety, especially with the fresh salmon slices. The service was good and the staffs cleared our plates efficiently. If you are wondering where else to have buffet lunch, this place is worth a try.

Matcha Tiramisu
Smile 2011-06-26

Watami ( Clarke Quay )
I was back at Watami for my green tea tiramisu! The dessert satisfied my sweet cravings and I recommended it to my friends. The staffs were polite and asked if wanted any drinks like iced/warm water. I heard that there's a rewards programme going on. For each visit, spend at least $10 and you'll get a stamp. Subsequently, you may redeem extra meal vouchers. Sounds pretty good..seems like we should try their mains for our next visit.

Claypot Seaseme Chicken
Smile 2011-06-21

A1 Zhou Lian Suo Dian - Rasapura Masters ( Marina Bay )
The food in this area is never cheap. It was during lunch hours and the food court was extremely packed. Fortunately, my friend and I managed to find a seat and we decided to try this stall for their claypot rice. Their porridge was probably a recommended specialty but we decided to try their claypots as it looked just as great. I ordered a seaseme chicken claypot which came with a bowl of rice. The seaseme chicken was tender and fragrant but there was not much meat. Nevertheless, the gravy was delicious especially when mixed with a hot bowl of steamed rice. This dish however is overpriced at $9.90. =(

fish shaped pancake
Smile 2011-06-21

Ooki Taiyaki ( Bugis )
After reading from some reviews, I decided to try ooki taiyaki when I was out one day. I chose the Azuki flavor since there was an on going promotion where you could get 2 fish pancakes for $2. The taste was simply awesome as the red bean fillings were not too sweet but just right. Also, the skin was perfectly crisped and tossed out of the hot moulds by adept pancake masters. Another yummy snack that I will be enjoying!

raisin cheese bread
Smile 2011-06-21

BreadTalk ( City Hall )
I am always back at breadtalk for my all time favorite- raisin cream cheese bread. The bread is soft and the cheese filling is always fresh. There is always a wide selection of breads to choose from. These days, they also offer fresh pizzas and freshly squeezed juices. Nevertheless, their cakes are quite expensive. I would love to try their tiramisu cake someday.

Mr Hokkaido
Smile 2011-06-21

BreadTalk ( Tampines )
I like the name of this bread sold at breadtalk. Hokkaido inspired, this creation is simply wonderful. The mix of white chocolates, sweetened red and white kidney beans, is a perfect combination for those who enjoy sweet pastries. The staffs at breadtalk are also very efficient. They pack your purchases very quickly into plastic bags.
