My birthday dinner! Smile Jan 09, 2012

It was my birthday celebration with another group of friends. We been walking to and fro along the fullerton area, deciding which restaurant to go. We were here outside Palm Beach at first, but didnt want to dine there because it was fully packed and the long waiting time.

But after walking to and fro, we were here outside the restaurant again, we then decided to wait for the seats as their food seem rather attractive to me.

Well, we waited around 15mins for our seats and were happy to get the outdoor seats with a spectacular MBS view infront of us!

Can see that their signature dish was their a variety of crab dishes as everyone were enjoying their crabs. As im not a crab lover, decided to try out their other dishes instead. We have ordered a drunken prawns, stuffed you tiao (cant remember the exact name), fried kang kong and a seafood hor fan.

All were extremely delicious. I loved the drunken prawns the most! It was very very fresh. Tasted like live prawns that were just being cooked. It was so springy and the soup tasted really nice and has a rather nice herbal taste! Wow, and the portion was really big! Look at that bamboo pot! It was covered with so much prawns and soup!

Another recommended dish is that 'stuffed you tiao', it tasted yummy! The you tiao was so crispy and fresh and the stuffed ingredients was tender and fresh!

Really love the nice view and foods here! Recommended! smile

Expensive high tea... Smile Jan 03, 2012

I was here with a friend for a high tea at St Regis. We have made the resevation around 2 weeks earlier as most of the time, the high tea are fully booked. So rememember to book early.

Their hightea starts from 3pm - 5pm on Fri- Sun at $56++ or $66++ with a glass of champagne per person. We have made reservation on a Saturaday and arrived at 3pm.

The high tea starts with a 3-tier set with 4 types of sandwiches, Scones - which consists of some plain scones and cranberry scones. As you can see, the scones were wrapped in a cloth to keep it moist and warm. So when eaten, the scones were moist and soft on the inside while rather crispy on the outside.

For the choice of one hot savoury, We have ordered a Creme Brulee Foie Gras - which is foie gras creme brulee with red onion compote and a Vol Au Vent A La Francaise - which is a oven baked puff pastry filled with creamy chicken and mushroom filling.

The Creme Brulee Foie Gras tasted quite amazing and kind of weird with the savoury foie gras topped with burnt caramel. Well, we didnt really like the taste of it. On the other hand, the Vol Au Vent A La Francaise tasted very nice, as the baked pastry was very well baked. It was very crispy and flaky on the outside and with the creamy chicken and musroom filling, it tasted very nice.

We also get to choose 2 miniature pastries each to go with our coffee and tea. The miniature pastries all tasted rather nice and fresh. I love the chocolate pastry the most which tasted rather strong and not very sweet.

Well, the high tea at St Regis was rather expensive but you will definetly love the ambience of the place and the quality of the service and food. Its okay to pamper yourself once in a while. smile

My friend who is working in Hongkong came back Singapore for CNY celebration recently. So we thought of meeting up with a few of our friends for a small reunion. At first, my friend wanted to have our gathering dinner at somewhere in Orchard, but he changed to meet up at Marina Bay Sand instead since all of us has yet to go there since their opening, so it will be a good experience for all of us to 'reunion' there.

One of our friend suggested having our dinner at Ku De Ta, as he heard about this restaurant from some other friends. So we headed to this open space restaurant located on 57th floor. Wow, the moment we arrived there, the first thing is their spectacular bay view and the second thing is that the place is very windy and cold! Better to bring along a jacket with you when you are there.

Anyway, after browsing through the menu, we decided to have a teriyakki chicken, grilled salted prawn, tofu. fried udon and fried rice wrapped in lotus leave. All are delicious especially the terriyaki chicken, its really different from what I tried in any other restaurants which is usually very saucy and wet. But theirs is more on 'drier' version, not that saucy and wet, and the chicken is more tender, juicy and tastier, i really like their terriyaki chicken. By the way, the fried udon is a bit dissapointing, cos it dont taste like udon but taste like fried mee instead.

Overall, their food is deliciious, but their portion is quite small, and you may need to order more dishes. And try to eat faster cos the food turn cold really fast bcos its very windy there.

Coffee bread! Smile Jul 31, 2012

My uncle bought us some coffee bun from this roti mum at IMM. Although its has turned cold when i got it, but it still tasted delicious.

This is my first time trying out this coffee bun. Well, from the first look, it looked very ordinary not really attractive, but i am definitely attracted to this coffee bun after the first bite! The bun has a crunchy coffee crust on the outside but it is soft and fluffy on the inside. Being a coffee lover, i am definitely in love with this coffee bun!

Was not feeling too well, wanted to have something soupy for dinner. So have got myself a special order - fuzhou fishball mee suan soup from this stall. Asked the aunt can i have this combination, she said sure!

I liked the mee suan which was cooked just nice (not soggy or overcooked) and love the fuzhou fishball which was so springy and juicy on the inside. And l love the 'tons' of vegetables! Really made it a healthy bowl of mee suan soup!
