Free Eggs? Yes! This restaurant provides the customers with free hard boiled eggs! Also, each customer is given a small bowl of sesame seed and a little pounder. Cute indeed! You can pound the sesame seeds while waiting for the noodles to be served.

Red Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen Special (All Toppings i.e. the Japanese Seaweed & the Flavoured Seaweed included)l. Note the BIG piece of seaweed popping up from the bowl. $15.80 a bowl includes the thick slices of Pork Slices, seaweed and the Special Flavoured Egg.

Black Spicy Tonkotsu Ramen Sepcial(All Toppings Included).

The Flavoured Egg Served together with the Ramen is different from the basket of complimentary hard boiled eggs. The yolk is soft and golden orange in color. Very delicious! Now about the whole bowl of Ramen - 1st taste of the soup, one may find it a bit saltier than the usual Ramen eaten elsewhere. The soup must be simmered for many hours with rich stock as it is milky and rich in taste. Next, tried the pork and it was so well seasoned and tasted good without the pork strong flavour. The texture of the noodle was great!

The interior of the shop, well decorated giving a traditional Japanese Ramen Shop ambience.

Spam Omusubi - Saw this item displayed, looks delicious. It is stated that it is made from Japanese Rice. The Ramen shop with a big display of the shop's name "豚骨王”Walked by this shop many times but did not get to try it as it is always with a queue. Noticed the Basket Of Eggs placed on the tables..wondering why? Managed to eat at the shop one day and realized the eggs are complimentary for customers. While waiting to get into the shop, customers are given a piece of paper which is titled "Make your own RAMEN!!" Yes! We can do it..why?..Well, on the slip of paper, besides ticking the Ramen you want, customers can choose to have the Taste of the Soup to be Light/Normal/Strong. Noodle Texture Choice is Hard, Normal or Soft. Overall the whole bowl of Ramen and the ingredients are so delicious, that one tend to forget about the slighty saltier soup and enjoyed it instead.

Side Panel with the words "豚骨王”and interestingly, 2 pigs forming the shape of a crown.

Recently renovated interior of the Xin Wang Hong Kong Cafe in Plaza Singapura. A regular at Xin Wang, I would like to introduce some of the nice dishes there. There are many nice food there and I shall start off with some of the items which is more or less a regular order of mine.

Iced HK Ying Yong. Always ordered it without sugar. The milk and the tea is such a fragrant blend that it tasted perfectly right for me without sugar. The Hot Ying Yong is thick and smooth and it is priced at $3.00 while the Iced Ying Yong is $3.20

Fish Egg Sauteed Hor Fun - The gravy tasted good and the hor fun is literally transparent and smooth. Generous servings of fish slices too. For fish lovers, this is a good choice. They have mixed seafood hor fun too. $9.80 a plate.

Fish Papaya Soup Beehoon - A healthy choice with papaya pieces, sweet corn, fish and vegetable. The soup with a light milk base is so delicious that you can go all the way to the very last scoop of the soup. The papaya and sweet corn gets seasoned by the soup base too and it is really tasty! $8.80

Dessert! Here it comes...The Mango Sago & Pomelo Cream. When the cafe's staff placed the dessert on the table, it was really a ooo-wow! Look at it, a nice sized bowl serving such a tempting looking dessert. Most important ...how does it taste? The pomleo toppings on the vanilla ice-cream ball which sits coolly on the Chilled Mango Cream. More treasures...the mango cubes and scooping into the Mango Cream, more surprises, transparent pearls. It is a wonderful dessert, well balanced in taste. The portion really makes a dessert lover leaving the restaurant feeling very satisfied indeed! $5.80 per serving.

Butter Pineapple Bo Lo Bun. This is one of the items on my "Must Order" list. We can find Bo Lo Buns at many pastry shops but what I like about this Bo Lo Bun here is that, there is a piece of juicy pineapple inside it. On top of the pineapple is a thick slice of butter. The Bo Lo Bun is baked to a golden brown and is crispy. When served hot, the butter melts slowly and goes into the pineapple and the bun, making every bite a joy! $2.50 per bun.

Hot & Sour Soup. A good starter to a feast of dumplings and pancakes. This soup resembles the texture of sharksfin. It is thick with a tinge of sourness. A dash of chilly oil adds more spice to it. Nice! $3.00 a bowl.

Boiled Mixed Seafood and Pork Dumplings - Piping hot, the dumplings are juicy and generous fillings of pork, vegetable & seafood inside. $8 for 10pcs.

Red Bean Paste Pancake - To end off a sumptious feast of dumpling is this hot favourite Red Bean Paste Pancake. The pastry is crispy with sesame toppings making it frangrant. A thin layer of mochi lines the pastry in the inside and the melting hot red bean paste simply oozes out. The sweetness level of the red bean is just right. Always feel that it is like a "Happing Ending" having this as the dessert.

Boiled Mixed Seafood and Pork Dumplings - Look! It's so juicy. The soup is tasty and the meat is soft with bits of vegetables inside.

Little Juicy Steamed Meat Dumplings - One of the hot favourites in this shop. The dumpling skin is very soft and the meat ball inside is so juicy and tasty! One must be skilful in handling this item. Try it with a pair of chopsticks and you will know why. $7.00 for 7 pcs.

As mentioned, one must be skilful in handling the Little Juicy Steamed Meat Dumplings. You can see through the dumpling skin...A meatball soaked in a delicious soup. Once you bite it, you really have to sip the juice. As regulars there with my colleagues and friends from overseas, we always joked that whoever breaks the xiao long bao when getting a piece out of the bamboo basket, has to pay for the meal.

Pan Fried Mixed Seafood and Pork Dumplings - A Pan Fried Dumpling in a small rounded oblong roll. A cute shape indeed. Eat it once served is simply wonderful! The dumpling wrap is fried to a golden brown and it is crackling crispy when it is sizzling hot. Crispy on the outside and the inside ingredients which is a mixture of pork, vegetable and seafood is so juicy. * A must eat item. $8 for 10pcs.

This shop is along Neil Road with one side of it leading to Chinatown. Initially years back, we see many Japanese customers queing up at this shop. There is always a queue waiting eagerly at the shop. It seems that there were writeups on this shop in the Japanese magazines, hence we see many Japanese tourists or residing Japanese coming here. Nowadays we see many local customers here too. The boss has expanded his premise by taking over the shop that was next door which is indeed good news as the waiting could be shortened. There are other savoury items like Steamed Vegetarian Dumplings, Noodles with Minced Pork And Soya Bean Paste etc and sweets like Rose Flavoured Glutinous Rice Balls and Lotus Seed Paste Pancakes etc.

Iced Abalone -The abalone was fresh, juicy & tasty. Nicely served in a decorative style..served on ice. A real good treat @ $11.90 per order.

Stir Fried Yam - Small cubes of fried yam which is crispy on the outside but smooth and fluffy inside. Eating it hot is so delicious! It is a savoury dish with a tinge of sweetness on the exterior coat of yam. $16.90 for a medium serving.

Tea Leaf Prawn - Something unique as the prawns were served in a basket, looking like a bouquet of prawns garnished with tea leaves. The prawns were of a good size and well seasoned with a sweet sauce which was very tasty. Definitely will order this dish during next visit! $29.90 for a medium sized plate.

Fried Hwa Heng Bee Hoon - A very special beehoon topped with vegetables, mushroom slices, seaweed, prawns and eggs. The beehoon is translucent and has a kind of chewy feel. It was said that the flavour of the beehoon comes from the rich milky pork bone stock and other ingredients which were cooked for hours. It seems to be a popular dish with customers. $15.90 (Medium Order)

Soon Hock Fish - The steamed Soon Hock was succulent and the sauce goes very well with the steamed fish.
Topping the fish with parsley does not only makes it attractive but adds flavour to this freshly steamed fish. $8.90 per 100. This fish weighs 900g.

Premium Tie Guan Yin - Yes Premium! A generous serving of the Tie Guan Yin tea leaves in a container which sits well inside the cup while it brews. A nice fragrance greets you when you lift the cover and every sip was so refreshing! $4.80per serving.

Hot Yam Paste in s nice portion topped with a Gingo Nut. The Yam paste was smooth and the sweetness level was just right. A delightful hot dessert @ $3.90per serving.

Pumpkin Cream with a scoop of ice cream. The pumpkin cream is fantastic on its own but scooping it with a bit of the ice cream is wonderful! This dessert was served in a glass bowl which was slanted at an angle which makes one feel as if it will topple, but not at all...a novelty serving manner indeed. This nice cool treat iis @ $4.90per serving.

Categories : Cantonese/Hong Kong | Kids-Friendly

Kungfu Paradise - A Cafe serving a good variety of food. Interesting Cafe Name with a cute Kungfu Boy icon.

Simple Menu outlook but with many delicious food choices inside. A good variety of Chinese & Western food choices. Wide selection of drink choices too. Coffee & Fruit Blends and many more.

Kungfu Stylo Coffee - Thought was just a special kind of coffee served in a normal coffee cup. It came as a surprise as it was served in a nice glass with a thick froth topped with cocoa bits. The coffee which is a blend of Arabica & Robusta was really aromatic and smooth. As per their menu,"Kungfu Stylo Coffee - our Signature stylo coffee is simply heavenly". Simply Great at $2.20 per order.

Sweet & Sour Chicken Rice Bowl with Lava Egg - Steamed Rice topped with Leafy Greens, Sweet & Sour Chicken and half a seasoned Lava Egg. The chicken is tender and the sweet & sour sauce is just right with lots of onion slices and green peppers. The egg yolk of the Lava Egg was soft and oozing out from the egg. A wonder as to how the egg was cooked as the egg white is hard boiled and seasoned and yet the egg yolk is so soft & nice. Price :$7.90

Mushroom "Babe" Rice. Few choices of sauces available and I chose Curry as the sauce for the rice. The rice was generously topped with chinese & button mushroom slices, cheese and curry gravy. The cheese was very "chewy" in the sense that the strands of cheese was long and has a chewy kind of feel. Eating it pipping hot is really slurpy delicious! The toppings was so generous that every scoop of rice was soaked in curry, cheese and mushrooms. Simply wonderful! Price : $8.90

Chicken Siew Mai served in a semi plastic & bamboo basket. Nowadays at most places, although the siew mai is tasty, the tradition taste & aroma of the steamed siew mai is missing. The siew mai here has a little of the traditional taste & aroma. 3pcs for $3.90
