Chili's ( Sentosa )
Alcoholic drink with a refill... no way! The Margarita was served with in the cocktail glass and with an ice shaker . This is the first time I see this drink served in this way, so that you can top it up after you finished. It is not free flowing but it was more than enough since the price is similar to what I am paying at pub. Definitely worth the price and it was really shiok to have this after a long walk at the universal studio.

bun
Smile 2011-12-17
Petit Provence ( Telok Blangah )
If I am not wrong , this is the first shop which I try this crossiant looking bun. They were really very famous few years back at holland village, where people had to call to make booking for this bun in advance. By noon time , the bun is already sold out! I used to be one of them who made order for this, but now this bun is readily avaliable. Other bakery had also come out with similar product, but I must say that Provence's version is still my favourite as it is the softest and able to last for several days, yet maintaining the softness.

Fried Bee Hoon
Smile 2011-12-17
Ban Seng Choon Cooked Food ( Bedok )
What do you expect from a 2 dollars bee hoon? Not much ingredient but just eating the plain taste of the bee hoon with little of the condiments. Maybe that is the reason for the auntie to add in a lime so that it will not taste that bland. This is one of the bee hoon that I will go for when I had heavy dinner a day before . Or when I really couldn't think of what to eat. A simply food like this can be a satisfying meal too.

Hokkien Mee
Smile 2011-12-17
Thye Hong - Food Republic ( Marine Parade )
I never get to try this at the Wisma Outlet. The queue is always super long whenever I pass by. Finally this Hokkien has come to the east! The stock used to fry the mee are really good, as I could really taste the sweetness of prawn that coated the mee. The mee did turn a bit soggy as I left it there for awhile when I went order other food for my family. But overall, it is a satisfying , flavoured Hokkien mee.

Honeymoon Dessert ( Telok Blangah )
I was pregnant then when I visited this restaurant, and I still remember that there was this young chap that kept reminding me about the uneven surface just before I was seated. He even gave me a bigger seat where the section was closed so that I could sit comfortably.

Every item on the menu looked attractive, and it would have been much better if I hadn't eaten so full. Prices seem to be higher than the normal dessert that I had eaten elsewhere but taste was really extraordinary. Probably was because they have put different items that we have not seen it elsewhere which make them stand out. It is very seldom to see the combination of mango with black glutinous rice. Nice creativeness!

Sakura International Buffet ( Jurong East )
Buffet was never on my list unless there is a family gathering. As my nieces and nephew have already grown up, those round tables were not able to hold the total number of people anymore. Moreover, a buffet offers a wide spread of food so that it can accommodate our different request for food. Happened to find this buffet from the website which others had recommended. The places offer cheap and a good spread of food. It ranges from western food items like grill fish, chicken steak .. to local food like laksa. Some of the items are prepared on the spot, which are the tempuras and grill items. And the best part is that they actually have free flow of drinks. Definitely worth every penny that we paid. Highly recommended.

minestrones
Smile 2011-12-13
The Soup Spoon ( Telok Blangah )
Looking at the cute packaging of the take away box really makes it more appetising for me. Seldom will I see the shop take particular attention on the bread. Either is it chucked away together with the food or it ends up in those transparent plastic bags. This shop got a lid to cover the bread , which was really thoughtful.
Minestrones was one of my favourite item that I will order whenever I visit the soup spoon. I also like the idea that they put up the calories for each soup, which gives us a better idea of what to choose from based on our daily intake. The soups are always filled with lots of ingredient which are really filling after eating. So it can be taken as a meal by itself. No wonder this place is packed with office crowds during lunch hour...

It is just rice with sauce
Cries 2011-12-13
Korean Express - Food Republic ( Marine Parade )
Headed straight to the stall when I entered the food court. It had been quite awhile since I had eaten Korean food, and I had never tried this dish at food court before. The rice was served in the stone ware as usual, and presentation was good. But disappointing taste! There is moisture trapped in between the rice and the bowl, which made the rice soogy and lack of the "burn" coat of rice. Very disappointed and not again!

Good Attitude
Smile 2011-12-13
58 Minced Meat Mee ( Bedok )
It is quite common for me to encounter those rude stall owner , especially when they are really popular. Since I am at their "mercy" (for the good food), I will just endure. This stall at the market was also one of the popular stalls that you will see queues every second. I am also one of their fan for their soup minced meat noodle. The meat come with dumplings instead of fishballs/meatballs that we normally see at other places. I have ordered 2 large bowls of mee soup but the auntie serve us only 1 small bowl. Without any questions asked, the uncle just replaced it for us. He even added that the auntie must have heard the wrong order. There are another stall that sells the same item, but I think I am sold by this stall's good attitude towards customers. smile

You Tiao with saltiness
Smile 2011-12-13
Yong Soon You Tiao - Food Republic ( Marine Parade )
My first bite was really disappointing as the you tiao seemed to lack crispyness. So I had acutally put it down after my first bite , hoping that my hubby will finish it for me. But after chewing for a few minutes, there was an unusual taste that I get it from the you tiao.. saltiness that linger in your mouth after swallowed. I didn't taste the saltiness in the you tiao when I first bite it, which I find it really amazing. The butterfly was good , just like any butterfly which I eat from other stall. To make a choice between this 2, YOU TIAO you got my full vote!

Square Donut
Just OK 2011-12-13
Gastronomia da paolo ( Marine Parade )
Was greeted with a warm smile by the staff while I was looking at the colourful cupcakes and bread on display. Was attracted to their cupcake initially, but then I saw this square donut, which really make me curious to try the taste. The donut look puffy so I thought it was filled with some meat/potatoes in it, but it was actually hollow. I think I still prefer the donut ring instead as this square donut seem to lack of the fluffiness. The donut puff up on one side which make the other side of the donut rather dense. Donut ? no ... Probably will try other stuff next time.

Fishball that is soft as cotton
Smile 2011-12-13
Li Xing Fishball Noodle - Food Republic ( Marine Parade )
Most of the time, I do not really pay particular attention on the fishball when I eat fishball noodle. I seem to forget that they should be the 'main character' instead of the noodle. This fishball that I tasted at this foodcourt made me realise that most of the fishball I eat at other place seem to be the same . But this fishball made such a difference that drew my attention. The fishball are really soft!shocked The bowl of fishball noodle does not come cheap ($4.50) but every bowl come with 6 huge fishballs , so I think is worth the money. The condiment used for the sauce was great too. The saltiness and sweetness complement the noodle well. I already went back for a few times and I am still LOVING IT.

Sushi Tei
Smile 2011-12-12
Sushi Tei ( City Hall )
I really like the renovation done for this outlet. You have to pass through a walkway before you enter the restaurant. The walkway also provide a good waiting place for customers , long enough to hold the crowds. So you won't get to see people blocking the doorway of other stores near theirs.

Service staff was really kind to give me the seats at the back ( with less disturbance) when she saw me carrying my sleeping baby. We ordered the usual dishes that we usually eat at Sushi Tei .. things like fried rice , fried squid. Everything taste great as usual, and I really love their fried squid. So far this is the best that I have eaten as compared to other Japanese restaurants that I have been to. The beef roll was also another item that I strongly recommend. The mushroom is wrapped with a thin slice of beef , and the juice simply just explodes in your mouth when you chew on it. Nice!

Pizza is a better choice
Just OK 2011-12-08
Modesto's ( Telok Blangah )
The places was packed with office crowd when I entered the restaurant. The food was really normal to me , and the service was really bad. It took very long for me to get one of the staff to get me some water. We ordered some pasta and pizza to share. But I was already full after eating the creamy pasta which I had ordered. So I took home the pizza instead. I think if I was to eat the pizza instead of the pasta, my mood would be better after I come out of the restaurant.sad

Top 10 carrot cake
Smile 2011-12-08
Bee Bee Carrot Cake ( Marine Parade )
I just went back today to get this carrot and surprised to see that there is a long queue for this stall. While I was waiting in the queue then I saw that they had been awarded top 10 carrot by citygas. I was not aware that there is such award until today, and it does attract quite a number of people to get in the queue. I still thought that I have finally found a nice carrot cake that I do not need to queue.

As for the taste, the 'queue" already speaks for that.
