Long queue but good food Smile Jul 15, 2011

The japanese food restaurant in Singapore are almost always filled with people, regardless of weekday or weekend. I had to wait for more than half an hour to get a table for two.

Ichiban has to be one of the nicest japanese food restaurants around. They offers a wide variety of combination meals and every single one of them looks so yummy that it is hard to decide. I eventually chose CM1, which consist of a seafood miso soup, a teriyaki mini-rice bowl, sashimi, steamed egg and a plate of fruits.

The portion was huge. It was almost hard to finish and i feel as though i had just finished a buffet. The salmon sashimi was fresh and sweet, the seafood miso was just how miso should taste and piping hot. And i would totally go for the teriyaki chicken next time. Its so flavorful!

Cosy chilled out place :)  Smile Jul 15, 2011

2am dessert bar is a very nice chill out place, away from all those typical bar and pubs located on the other end of the road. There's no loud music or noisy customers, so its a great place for chit chat.

i always refer to the place as, a fine-dining dessert place, cause all the food there are simply so pretty. The way the presentation was done, it will make me not want to eat it and just stare at it. The chocolate tart, is the best among all that was ordered. The chocolate is not super sweet, and the way it flows out when you dig your spoon in is simply delightful. Not even the lava cake of most shops would be able to do that.

I was impressed with their drinks too. I had the singapore 65, and it is by far one of the nicest cocktails i had. There's taste of peach, and some other tropical fruits, but it does not have the bitter taste of alcohol at all.

I love popcorn!  Smile Jul 11, 2011
Popcorns are my new favorites! Absolutely love them with the crunchiness and sweetness! Butterscotch is slightly less sweet compared to the caramel ones, and i think it is the best there so far among all that i have tried. It is so much better than the cinemas ones. And cheaper than the other gourmet popcorn out there.

I also tried the more innovative ones and bought the green apple flavor popcorn. Actually all the other flavors tasted quite exotic to me, especially those like lemon mint. It actually taste more like fisherman friend to me.

Breakfast for Dinner!  Smile Jul 05, 2011

Wild honey is a all day breakfast place, and it is a great concept! The place is cosy, and the service was fast. Great thing that we came early, cause the place was filled up fast soon after. The only menu was written on a board, but there are two ipads with images of the menu and that will help in the selection, cause there are just too many to choose from.

There are a wide variety of breakfast from all over. And we had the English and Scandinavian. I had to say, the portion for English breakfast is huge! There's potato, sausage, tomato, bread and scramble egg. And i love the toast! Its crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Perfect with the scramble egg, which is light and fluffy.

Scandinavian consist of grilled salmon on rosti with asparagus. Yummy! The salmon can practically melt in your mouth! The potato strips of the rosti is thinner than what i had expected, and is different from normal but i like it. Its crispier and goes great with the sauce.

Mud pie!  Smile Jun 27, 2011

Categories : Café | Ice Cream and Gelato

I had always wanted to try the mud pie at island creamery, but for the past few times that i went, i was too late and i was always that it was sold out for the day. So, i was super excited when i managed to order it this time round when i went around lunch time.

This is sheer delight for any oreo and chocolate lover out there! Simply delicious! Though it is necessary to wait for it to thaw for a moment before we could have it (it was frozen solid). But the thick rice chocolate ice cream on top and cookie and cream at the bottom is heavenly. For $4.80, this is the most worth while and best mudpie i had in a long time.
