Food Republic opens its 13th outlet at the basement of Shaw House – the latest food atrium addition to Orchard – with 18 food stalls and four mini restaurants in a spacious setting that seats 700 people comfortably. Did you know: Each Food Republic outlet is themed according to various concepts to evoke different dining experiences. For instance, the Wisma Atria outlet brings you back to the sixties with vinyls of famous singers of the era plastered on walls, while the new Shaw outlet features décor artfully upcycled using wooden pellets and houseplants for an inviting feel. Albeit the slightly heftier price tag compared to the other 12 outlets, there are certain standout stalls here that keep us coming back for more. The first being Toa Payoh Lorong 7 Teochew Fishball Noodle, which serves huge succulent fishballs made from superior yellowtail fish. Another popular pick that never fails to satisfy is Chai’s Original Sliced Fish Soup. The fried fish slices contain 100% fish meat with no flour batter in a light yet tasty soup.
