Pie Face Debuts in Singapore | OpenRice Singapore

Hailing from Sydney, this successful micro-bakery café has made its way to the bustling town area of Singapore with two outlets officially opening in 313@Somerset and Bugis Village. Pie Face has over 80 outlets worldwide to date, since they first launched in Australia over a decade ago. The kitchen team is specially trained to make the traditional French puff pastry from scratch, by folding the special blend of butter to create 48 layers – an essential step in producing the crispest and highest quality of pastry. This unique and detailed recipe is birthed by Chef Francois Galand, who comes from a long line of established and passionate pastry chefs. A wide array of flavours is available in Singapore stores and they include savoury selections such as – Chunky Steak Pie ($5.20), Chicken & Mushroom Pie ($4.90), Tandoori Vegetable Pie ($4.90) and Thai Chicken Curry Pie($4.90). The Chunky Steak Pie is Pie Face’s signature crown jewel – tender chunks of beef braised with onion, garlic and gravy to boast a fragrant stew that is tasty and complements the flaky puff pastry. The Thai Chicken Curry Pie is unique to Singapore and is not available in their Australian outlets. This flavour has strong Asian flavours that is familiar to us and is definitely one that we will enjoy. You can have some of their sweet treats after a savoury one with selections such as – Mini Butterscotch Pie or Mini Apple Crumble Pie ($3.30 each) to end off your meal. Also available in house are freshly made coffee that is brewed by the barista. Different types of coffee beans are blended to form this perfect concoction and the coffees here start from only $4.
