I paid my visit to this hotel restaurant for lunch buffet during my company training on weekday. The place is located at the lobby of hotel. It offered Asian style buffet which mostly local food. It was a standard buffet meal but they do offer a live station for satay outside the hotel. You can try the nyonya kueh and kueh pie tie as well. They offer a good salad selection too.The food I tried is chicken pie which was generous in filling and quite tasty. Their salad selection taste were good also. I love their ondeh-ondeh as the gula melaka flowing in the filling was just perfect for me. The rich chocolate tart was really rich in chocolate which is a little too sweet for me. continue reading

What I liked:- The ambience was kinda relaxing. The swimming pool was right outside and you could see the Changi golf course. I felt like I was away from the city (which I really was) and time just slows down.- The attentive and friendly staff were prompt in refilling my glasses and clearing my table. Good job!- The chefs kept the buffet counters very clean! Also, some of the chefs were very very friendly and willingly to chat with customers. That's nice~Flaws: - When I collected food at the outdoor area, I was holding my plate of satay in one hand and a cup of teh tarik in another. Then I realised, I had to pull open the door. NOT PUSH! If only it could be pushed, I could do it with my hands full. Fortunately, there was a nice lady who opened the door for me. - Travelling all the way to Changi Village could be a hassle for some. It took me more than an hour to get there on public transport.- No sashimi! I was pretty disappointed because even some cheaper buffet restaurants offer salmon sashimi. However, I admit I'm being biased here.Verdict: Overall, I thought that the buffet spread substantiates its affordable hotel buffet price. The quality of the food was quite decent in general. It's a buffet place recommended for family and especially for those with elderly members in their family. My partner and I decided to have the International Buffet at Saltwater Cafe. This place is quiet and has a super high ceiling. It is situated within Changi Village Hotel itself. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The head chef even personally cooked the carrot cake and delivered to me! What nice and attentive service. There is a wide variety of meats, vegetables including food from the global scene (Japanese) as well as local delights from the various cuisines (Indian/Malay/Chinese/Western etc). I spent much time taking and trying out everything! There were no major misses here. At the Eastern corner of Singapore, usually it's more of a makan hang out at supper times. continue reading

I first tried the buffet lunch at Changi Village when it has 1 for 1 promotion for credit card. I was surprised with the wide range of food, and they taste very good. Really value for money for 1-1. Range includes spaghettti, lok-lok, waffle, duck meat, laksa, etc. Hence, when it was on 1 for 1 promotion again (months later), I went with my ex-classmates for a class gathering. However, this time I am disappointed. While there's still a wide range of food, they are not to my liking. Service was very good though, so sort of made up for it. But I will not travel so far to Changi to try the food again. continue reading

I went there with 3 of my cousin for buffet lunch, it was a very near to where all my cousins stay (pasir ris). My cousin all park at the hotel and all feel that the car park is rather narrow. There are alot of variety choice of food but i do hope that they have more dessert variety. As for the service, the staff were attentive to our needs and were quick to top up our water and clear the plates. Overall, we paid less than 100 bucks under credit card promotion . continue reading
