Chinese New Year is the time when you can find a lot of new year goodies. A must buy for our family is this prawn roll. We like the ones from fragrance cos the shrimp they use is really good. It is not too salty but it is pretty spicy. Despite the spiciness, you cannot help but keep popping mouth after mouth. it looks a little like deep fried popiah. i like the crispy outer coating, it is not too oily and very crunchy! continue reading

Chinese New Year is coming. I was shopping with my mother and we decided to buy some cookies from fragrance. We bought their Pineapple Tarts from them. Pineapple tarts come in different shapes and forms, some with the pineapple paste wrapped inside the pastry while others is the paste is on top of the tarts. For fragrance's pineapple tart, their pastry is cut into flower shape, on the centre of the flower, they place a ball of pineapple paste on top. their pineapple paste is not too sweet, good for those who dun like too sweet stuff and this pastry is so delicious, very buttery and simply melts in your mouth. a good combination of tart and pastry! continue reading

I never thought I have the chance to try this cute looking bak kwas but my hubby was game enough to buy it on the spot when I casually commented that I wanted it. This is the kurobuta bak kwa and I heard the difference between this and the normal bak kwa is that they use the pork from pigs which are breed hormone free. Taste wise, there is really a difference in the texture of the bak kwa. This one is so much more tender and more moist than the normal bak kwa which is usually very dry. I find this more delicious than the normal bak kwa due to its better texture. I guess part of the reason is also that it is individually packed which makes every piece more fresh. It is convenient for guests to eat as well. Would definitely recommend this! continue reading

I'm not sure what's the english name for the biscuit in the picture. Something like pong biscuit? Now the food. The biscuit is really fragrant and you can smell it when you open the bag. The filling inside is just right, not too sweet. However, I think the skin is quite thick, but its crispiness saved it. I bought a bag of 5 and it costs $3. A bag of 10 costs $5. continue reading
