After having lunch at monster curry. I decided to hit up dessert story and try another one of their snow ice creation.  I've had dessert story twice before and only had the mango snow ice which I totally adore, chunks of mango and sweetness overdose, I never once thought that I would try another type of snow ice.Main entranceSeating areaWe pondered for awhile which dessert we wanted... and we proceeded to the counter to make our order.Yogurt snow ice was the decision and I loved that it came with all the little tadpole pearl like jellies.. And the peaches were nice as it added sweetness to the dessert. For $4.20 it was big enough to be shared by 3 a cool and refreshing dessert for a very hot Tuesday afternoon!I really enjoy snow ice! and I think I will be back to try more flavours! continue reading

I like the Shave Ice (i've tried mango and a few other flavours and enjoyed them). Honestly it is nothing special and quite pricy but i love to treat myself to one of these once in a while. I think mango probably taste best as Milo taste just like ice Milo and the red bean on the green tea makes it really sweet. continue reading

Tracing back, I have many years didn’t touch on Teochew-style Yam Paste. Unlike other Chinese Desserts, it was not a common foodie to be sold at hawker stall. I think maybe because such Taro Paste was not cooking-friendly and time-consuming in its preparation. I happened to find it at Dessert Story, I am not going to give up this opportunity. Self-service basis, thus there was no service charges. All the prices stated was nett.My first time to join these two kinds of desserts together, the taste was amazingly great. Starchy solid Yam Paste was relatively sweet when taking along with savoury Gingko Barley soup. Instant gratification, I was so contented to have this combination. Full of Coconut Milk fragrant and infinity sugary taste, I admit it was calorie-busting yet appealingly tempting. Of course the price was slightly expensive for Yam Paste, it was $3.50 and $2.80 for Gingko Barley Soup. continue reading

A friend was craving for snow ice after lunch so we stopped by for a dessert. She's a big mango fan and she ordered the mango snow ice. She's not fussy and thus she finds the snow ice good. I ordered the strawberry snow ice. Needless to say, i am disappointed when i saw the colouring. Too much colouring and the strawberry syrup is too sweet. Its not cheap, it cost about $4. Wouldnt eat snow ice from this store anymore. Will probably try the hot desserts. continue reading
