As it was my first time at Rasapura Masters for dinner, i did not know what to eat and just wander around. There were a lot of stalls but in the end i chose this stall as i saw the huge picture of their KL Ancient Hokkien Mee and i was immediately drawn to it. Had to wait for almost 15 mins for my food to be ready as they took a really long time to finish cooking it as there were also other orders as well. I love the hokkien mee and inside there are also cabbage, meat, fishcake. Feel that the price is kind of steep at $6.80 for a plate of hokkien mee. continue reading

I was famished after touring the ArtScience Museum and so I came to the Rasapura Masters for some food. Spotted a few people eating this dark brown thick noodle and not too long after, I spotted the big sign "Kuala Lumpur Ancient Hokkien Mee" and the photo matches what they are eating. Placed an order and waited for about 10 minutes because they only cooked for one serving each time instead of one big portion and divide out. This dish is definitely not suitable for me. After a few mouthful, I felt that I can't eat anymore because it's too oily. There's not much ingredients only fishcakes, cabbages and alot alot of pork lard. A few of the cabbages are not cut properly and are added in as big chunks. Totally regret buying this and felt so uncomfortable after forcing myself to finish the whole plate. continue reading

Usually these kind of steamed rice is with pork or chicken either serves with black beans sauce or salted fish or preserved vegetables etc in a ceramic bowl are often steamed together as like those in claypot but without the burnt rice effect at the bottom of pot. Was disappointed when took my first mouth of the food, the meat and the rice was obviously done separately and they just piled the meat on top of rice when served. I expected the store here in MBS to sell more authentic or close to it for the price people are paying for. Oh well, for sure I will not buy from this store again. continue reading
