It was a lazy afternoon and I went to Global Kitchen for high-tea with my family as it was recommended by my sister. She expecially recommended the manyselection of tea and the wide buffet spread. The spread was mostly Asia cuisine from Siew Mai to Rojak, Laksa, Char Siew, Sushi and so on. They also have an assortment of sandwich selection and many desert selection of local kuehs and western cakes & muffins. I love the ice cream as you can feel the creaminess of the strawberry and it isn't too sweet. continue reading

The soup section – cream of seafood, fish maw seafood soup. The cream soup of seafood soup is very creamy. The fish maw soup is too thick but is full of fish maw and crab stick.Dim Sum. Feels the skin abit too thick. The white chocolate tastes very good. The smoked fish counter – little pancakes are made on the spot, top with slices of smoked fish and decorates with sour cream, chopped chives, chopped cooked egg and chopped onion. Very unique. The sushi limited, only a plate displayed. continue reading

The last time I ate at Global Kitchen, it was a complete flop and I vowed never to return again. Fast forward 2 years and I'm back again, solely because I couldn't resist the temptation of a cheap high tea buffet (1 for 1 with the Pan Pac card. Call me a cheapo).AmbienceThe place has a modern trendy look to it with its white washed walls and black louvers that segregate the bigger tables from the smaller ones. Lighting was rather pleasant and noise level generally acceptable even though the place was quite packed when we were there. Tables are spaced sufficiently far apart and that's definitely a plus point.VarietyThere was a mini dessert counter with local stuff like almond jelly with longan, egg tarts, cream puffs, nonya kuehs etc. The cooked food counter probably had around 6 to 8 items that consisted mainly of local fare as well, from satay to fried rice. A live station whips up waffles and chops up roasted duck. All in all, the variety was abysmal but at least it had double the variety as compared to its sister buffet at 10@Claymore. One thing that caught my attention was the tea counter though, where you help yourself to about 10 different types of tea.QualityThe quality was merely average in my humble opinion. Everything was edible but honestly, don't expect much. You would probably feel more satisfied by going to the hawker centre to eat the same type of food.ServiceService was quite good. Some of the wait staff came across as earnest and one in particular went the extra mile to try and get me a tea strainer. All in all, very pleased with the service. continue reading

Went to the restaurant a month ago, and was there to celebrate my birthday! I like buffets, as there's always quite a generous spread of food. Here, their sashimi is really fresh and delightful, as the raw salmon has a good bite to it, and I like their meats too. The ee fu mee noodles were cooked very well, they had two varieties of soups, had a selection of bread rolls and other chinese and international food. i particularly recommend this place if you are someone who adores desserts, as the spread of desserts is absolutely mind-blowing! Ice cream, cakes, fruit tarts, pies, those desserts in mini cups and so much more! The best thing, they keep bringing new desserts to the table, and it was overwhelmingly good~ They even had a selection of fine cheeses and crackers, which I tried, and I think it was delectable. In fact, upon hearing the fact that it was my birthday, the chef made a special decorated plate of cake just for me The service is impeccable. continue reading

A night stay at pan pacific cames with a compliment breakfast for 2.I would expect a pretty good selection of food considered it's Pan Pacific. Was dissapointed pretty much from the selection of food. Pretty much mix of local and western breakfast selection. Nothing impressive.Summarized my whole experience1. Crowded. Too many people, staff short-handed, plates not promptly cleared.2. Limited selection of food to justify the normal price.3. Local delight such as fried mee, beehoon were badly done. Dried and rather plain. The overall stay at pan pac was rather decent, but the breakfast are disappointing. continue reading
