Whether you’re at Food for Thought’s 8QSAM or Singapore Botanic Gardens you can get the Basic (scrambled eggs, bacon and toasted brioche, $7), House (Basic plus hash browns and a thyme tomato salad, $12) and the Full Works (House plus garlic mushrooms and chunky chicken sausage, $18). The serving and quality of food are relatively satisfying!The ambience at Food for thought is perfect for a gathering or chill out with friends. It is a good place for brunch! Location of the cafe is perfectly situated outside the bras basah mrt station therefore the convenience is not compromised.

Food for Thought... THE BOSS must be Christian, I've been seeing Bible verses pasted on their walls, and it really spoke to me. Ecclesiastes 3:13 That each of them may eat and drink, and find satisfaction in all their toil--this is the gift of God.Many of us thinks that God wants us to work hard before He blesses us, i.e: do your best and God can do the rest, but if you do your best, God can't get all the glory because it's you working hard, so you will pride yourself in the trophy. Anyway, Food for thought offers amazing food yeah!!This is called Basic Works - $7, though I don't really know why, but the scrambled egg is delicious! The bacon strips were awesome and crispy, and I love the layout of the restaurant.. the decorations made me feel at peace. For a price of $7, that's really affordable.

I had sudden cravings for mussels and was lucky that Food for Thought happened to be serving mussels as their special. The pasta itself was normal. What I really liked was the fresh mussels which lacked a distinct musty foul-smelling taste that not fresh mussels often carry. The sauce itself was excellent. My only complaint was that for its price, the mussels could have been more.

Not too much cream added and a slight grainy texture gives a kind of rustic feel to this simple dishCheese Toast (basil pesto) with tomato thyme salad.Besides basil pesto, one can choose chilli butter, garlic thyme. Foccacia bread is toasted but not too dry. Amount of cheese just right and the portion is fills one up easily. Hoi Sin Marinated Baby Back Ribs With potato cheese gratin Look at that long slab of meat, flavoursome but not too salty. Meat is tender with bits of fats. Good for sharing even btw 3 person. Salad is same as the cheese toast but lacks dressing. Garlic and Prawn LinguineSimple flavors and aroma but no negative criticisms about this dish. pasta manages to retain some moisture.Butterscotch apple crumble with vanilla ice cream and sautéed cherries and berries (good for 2) Ice cream came like a big snowball. Crumble is average and is more cakey lumpy rather than buttery or crunchy. Prefer apple slices to apple chunks and a pity only to have tasted the butterscotch sauce at the very end as it was buried at the base.warm cheese and brownie fudge with ice cream on bits of crumbles.This was a pleasant surprise and something that was presented different from what I thought.What is good about this......Similar to a warm cheese pudding with chocolate oozing out from the base. Not too creamy or overly sweet. Both desserts have tangy berries to balance the sweetness. Chocolate lovers should not miss this.In short, the waiting time was not too long. Quantity and quality is pretty worth for the price. Furthermore, without service charge, what could be better than a nice weekend evening here to chill out with a couple of good friends?

Food for Thought is quite a nice and comfortable cafe that serves affordable western food and at the same time good quality food. The dessert is not bad, I had these to share with my friend after we have our dinner and some window shopping. The Red velvet cake is very special so I order to try it. And this is my first time having velvet cake but it's great! And the ice cream is creamy and chilling!
