I had dined at fish & co many times and had great experiences there. Decided to have a late lunch/ early dinner with my friends at Fish & Co at around 4pm. As it was before 6pm, There were quite a few attractive value meals: One main course, salad buffet and a drink priced at $14.95++ . The restaurant was not crowded at that time hence the ambience was relaxed and nice. However i feel that the seats for table for 4 was quite small , therefore if we were to order appetizers, there will not be sufficient space to place all our food :/ i decided to order the student promo New york fish and chips New york fish and chips @ $9.75 nettAppearance wise, the portion was quite big with a generous serving of fries, The battered fish was golden brown and fried to perfection. The meat was really soft and tasty! There was also parmesan cheese in the meat itself. Personally, i do not like the cheese taste in the fish though, will stick to ordering the original fish and chips next time! The fries tasted great too with the tartar sauce Overall, the student promo was value for money as the meal was less than $10 continue reading

Decided to have a lunch meet up with my ex-colleague She's working near Novena hence i decided to head down to have lunch with her. We wanted to have Western food hence we decided on having our meal at Fish & Co. There was a typical lunch crowd so service was a bit slow. We each ordered from their lunch menu. Each set comes with a salad that we can go freely head to the table to grab. There's potato salad too, hot favourite. Service was slow in replenishing the salad bar too, very fast run out of potato salad! I love the potato salad, very fresh potatoes used.I think it's red potatoes, love the crunchy taste which is somewhat like apples! We ordered the Fish and Chip and Salmon Set. My Fish and Chip was alright, not the best I had before though. However the fries were great and plenty as usual, always had my fill of them I tried my friend's salmon, it was very fresh and delicious! It was a good thick amount of poached salmon, very healthy It's being served with a good portion of mash potato, yum!I should have ordered that, I'll definitely have this the next time round i visit! continue reading

If you are lost and don't know what to eat at Fish & Co... just simply choose their best selling item on the menu - FISH & CHIPS. You will never go wrong with the best selling items. I wasn't feeling very adventurous so I ordered that. As usual, it came with a bed of fries and a huge piece of battered fried fish. The fish is crispy and moist on the inside. Doesn't have the fishy smell so it was a plus point for me. The fries is lukewarm though, will be good it is fresh from the fryer. This dish is also quite filling for me but I will tends to feel full half way down because of all the oil. Overall a not bad dish. continue reading

photos and more: http://andmorefood.wordpress.com/2013/06/19/fish-co-novena/alright-to-decent fish at this chain. I’ll be honest: I come here only for their swordfish collar. the chain suffers from inconsistency – food standards can be well below average depending on the outlet you visit, and service is slightly haphazard. but I think of the swordfish, drool a little, and ignore it all.my parents like the garlic lemon butter mussels – the sauce is good for dipping, it comes with soft bread that works well together.they have a new special menu for sides like prawn fritters to accompany your main course. this is quite a good idea – especially for variety. the giant stuffed squid was a monstrous-looking fried ball of cephalopod stuffed with orange cheese. a little rubbery, but worth the experience.the swordfish collar is always delish. hulking bits of fish fried up to a crisp and served with a mango salsa, this is moist, firm white fish. the other mains are pretty alright – they’ve also just expanded their menu and the sis tells me standards are a little better (I wouldn’t know because I only ever have the swordfish).it’s not posh dining at all – most things on the menu are essentially iterations of fried fish with sauce, and rather crude renditions at that. but it’s a good meal for mid-week, nothing too strenuous. plus, fish is good for you! continue reading
