"Ivory & Ebony"Nice name for brownie & ice cream huh? =)This was great for sharing, especially when the stomach was already quite full. The usual brownie usually comes in bigger portion with just 1 scoop of ice cream. I kinda preferred the presentation here, with a mouth-size portion ( ok, maybe a few mouthful) accompanied with a comparable scoop on it. The nuts on it added on a crunchy texture. Nice one. This was so so adorable, with the polka dot cup & saucer plus the little flower marshmallows. Taste wise, chocolate drink tasted chocolate, so what else to say? But the presentation definitely added points to it. To read more and visit photo, visit http://fun-hideout.blogspot.sg/2011/09/tea-cosy.html continue reading

Dodge in a corner with attractive ceramix displays, you might thought that Tea Cosy sells displays items, hmm, you are half-right. Yes, they sells the display items in their restaurant with foods! Cool concept isn't it, shop while you eat.All their high tea set goes at $19.95. For a whole range of set menus, kindly google and check out their website. We ordered their High tea non-seafood set and seafood set that comes with sweets and beverages. It's kind of disappointing once we know that the portion are really so small when they are served. The scones and cakes tastes normal only and both the seafood and non-seafood platter are just medicore.I recently checked out their website to know that they had closed down. continue reading

For pictures and full review, pls visit:http://madamechewy.wordpress.com/2012/07/12/tea-cosy/Tea Cosy at Plaza Singapura is 2-in-1 retail and dining establishment. It sells angel themed decorative items, furniture, as well as serves lunch, afternoon tea and dinner.I visited on a weekday afternoon for lunch. It was quiet as only a couple of other tables were occupied. A great place to have afternoon tea and chat for hours. We had:Baked mushrooms with cheese and bacon- yummilicious!Miso dory and my side salad with a citrus dressing- tasted great but slightly small servingAglio oilo with garlic prawns-a little spicy which added some "kick"Scones served with Clotted cream and Honey. It was enjoyable but was not as good as the scones from Fosters. continue reading

http://pixieprodigy.wordpress.com/2012/04/06/tea-cosy/We ventured into the realms of High Tea today, for the first time in a few years. It was a refreshing turn from the numerous brunches that we had recently, and it was a welcoming one to be frank. It was decors galore upon setting foot on Tea Cosy, so much so that it was a bit overbearing at times. The country/cottage theme was welcomingly pleasant. However, much work needs to be done on colour coordination for some parts of the restaurant which sometimes threatened to wreck the original theme. The concept of Tea Cosy is akin to the likes of Octa Hotel Cafe and Maison Ikkoku where you can browse their merchandize while enjoying your meal.We recently changed our eating habits, preferring small portions in a wider variety rather than wolfing down the mains. With that in mind, we ordered their well publicized High Tea Set ($19.95). We had a choice between a seafood and a non-seafood set, we chose the former. Everything came in bite-sized portion which was friendly to our palates, without getting bored/tired of a single item. The items included grilled prawn cocktail, smoked salmon crostini, foie gras taster, turkey ham and pineapple crostini and bruschetta. In general, these were not really fantastic but they were not too bad also. I am sitting on the fence for this one!For sweets, again, we had a choice between 3 miniature cakes and 2 English scones. We opted for the later, which were quite the perfect scones! They crumbled in your mouth with every bite and they were really sweet. Well complimented with a slab of butter. For beverage, we had Tea Cosy Premium coffee which really was so-so. Nothing too impressive here.Being a mushroom fan, I could not let myself pass on their Baked Mushrooms ($11.95), which was one of their signature dishes. Each mushroom had melted parmesan cheese and they were baked to perfect succulence. Really heavenly this! The Clam Chowder Soup ($8.95) was not the usual cream based one. On the contrary, it was rather light and not too thick. We really liked the generous servings of finely diced clams thrown in.I am not sure if I would recommend their high tea set but their signature dishes are a must try. If you enjoy dining at a quiet place in a shopping mall, this could be the ideal place for you to do so after some retail therapy. continue reading

I walked in and thought it was a beautiful gift shop. No! It sells food. I was surprised and held very high hopes given the peaceful classy environment. True enough, the high tea set was very pretty, mini and decently priced at $19.95. The fingers food set is nice; everything came in bite-sized portion which was friendly to our palates, without getting bored/tired of a single itemGood high tea set, very cozy indeed. Tea cozy, I'll be back! continue reading
