Casual Japanese restaurant, Umi Sushi aimed to be quick and cheap always. The presentation was absolutely adorable, all in mini size. Ambience at the eatery was basically bright and hygiene, service was extraordinary prompt. One thing I must admit that the food might not be too high-standard, yet it was guaranteed fresh.Lovely sweet plate was ordered, it was too pretty to eat. The size of this dessert was just enough to satisfy my craving, quality instead of quantity. I was impressed with their creativeness and talent to have charming waffle inside Menu. Feel ease about the price tag, it was affordable. continue reading

I was craving for sushi! so i decided to go to umisushi! It was my virgin trip there and i was shock to see teriyaki chicken there!!! Kinda curious how does it taste like, i decided to buy it. It was up to my expectation. Not really very nice but not too bad either. I kinda like the rice more that the chicken as the sauce on the rice was just nice and they blend in perfectly! I cant cant get enough of the rice! continue reading

Out of the available choices in the menu, I had Curry Tori Katsu Udon - S$5.80 for dinner. The cashier took my order and since I'm dinning in, she referred me to have a seat first. I waited about 5 minutes at the side of the stall seated, before the food was served to me. Observed the preparation and food was actually reheated. The cook pulled a long face throughout the preparation unlike the cashier who was cheery and polite. Many may have complained that the portion is small but I guess it is every cent that we had paid for. Curry gravy was not as thick as expected but was served warm with cripsy tori katsu. Yums. Udon was smooth and thick. Overall the dinning experience at its side bench is rather interesting and quick to go for someone who wishes to have a quick bite. continue reading

One of the reasons I love umisushi is because they have Arizona tea! This is really hard to find in Singapore and so far only seen it in umi sushi and some other Japanese food town. But the glass bottled ones with nice flowery design are only seen in umisushi! It's kind of pricey at $3 per bottle but the taste makes up for it all! Bought the ginseng and honey green tea and surprisingly nice, didn't have the bitter ginseng taste at all. Might sometimes be out of stock so be sure to grab yours when you see it available! continue reading

Umisushi offers good Japanese fast food at very affordable price. Chuka Wakame ($2.70) is the seaweed salad served with sesame, it tastes slightly sour and appetizing. Lobster salad ($3.20) is yummy. The lobster chunks are fresh, the flavour is good and creamy. Also it contains some caviars, giving it an extra pulpy texture. Tori Terriyaki Bento ($5.80) is quite ordinary. The rice is too much, but the chicken is well-marinated in terriyaki sauce and pan-fried nicely. The meat is juicy too. Curry Tori Katsu Udon ($5.80) is a surprise. The curry gravy is flavourful yet not spicy, although the texture of udon is not as chewy as those served in restaurant. continue reading
