This is one of the dishes you would expect from Zi char stalls in Singapore. Instead of cereal prawns, they have cereal tofu. A plate like this has about 6 pieces of fried egg tofu that cost $12. The cereal they give is abundant. Some days it is more fragrant than others though. Overall, the cereal outside is crispy and the tofu inside is tender. You can give it a try. continue reading

This stall is just opposite Bugis Junction, and is famous for its chicken rice, but its serves other dishes as well. Tried the chicken rice set with my friend, with both of us ordering breast meat. The chicken was tender and sleek and the rice had just the right amount of oil. Rice was fluffy and easy to eat. The soup was passable though. The veg, though nicely chopped, was cooked with too much oil. continue reading

This set of chicken rice that comes with a bowl of soup, sliced drumstick chicken and rice costs $3.50 and is popular amongst the working class. The chicken is tender and the sauce dripped over the chicken is not too salty. The soup does not taste too oily, salty or peppery and the serving of rice is relatively generous. If you were to try this plate of chicken rice, I would highly recommend you to dip the chicken slices in finely chopped ginger and black soy sauce. Highly recommended especially for chicken rice lovers or for those who want to try authentic Singapore flavoour chicken rice continue reading

Chicken rice is pretty good. Rice is tasty and the chicken is tender. The chilli to go with this is very delicious too. Dumplings (sui jiao) here are awesome too. Just that service is not too good, long waiting time which results in a long queue. continue reading
