It has been quite a long time since I ate jurong point’s food court Japanese food. This time I ordered their egg with chicken don. The portion of the rice is quite a lot. The rice is pretty sticky and chewy. the egg is cooked together with the chicken. the egg is well seasoned, very tasty. the chicken is cooked perfectly, not too dry very tender and juicy. they topped the don with shredded seaweed giving it a crisp taste. The miso soup is very tasty, not too salty as well. I am very satisfied with this hearty meal. continue reading

Sometimes I just have the craving for bento although it is just normal food putting together. The presentation makes me wants to eat them more. This bento ($6) is takeaway from the food court, and I love the saba grilled fish a lot! the fish skin is crispy and the gravy is tasty. The chicken cutlet is not that nice though, not crispy and hard. The rice is okay and the pickled veggies is refreshing. continue reading

This is the only Japanese Cuisine in Koptiam and the only stall that sells Omelette Rice. I was craving for omurice so I gave it a try. The omurice is hardly like normal omurice. Firstly, the omelette, is way too thin and could hardly wrap the rice. There were cracks all over the omelette and it didn't even manage to cover half of the rice. Also, the egg was so thin that you wouldn't know it exists unless you see or feel it. They put some kind of soy sauce in their rice which does not taste good and overpowers the taste of everything else. The omurice set I ordered came with a side of chicken cutlet which was way too oily and I didn't even eat it after one bite. It was a bad experience and I'm certainly not going back to the stall after this. It'd be good if the stall hadn't put soy sauce in their rice which gives the rice a weird unbearable taste. continue reading
