Had the BBQ chicken and saba fish combo (around $7). Price is reasonable (there's a 10% discount with the kopitiam card) considering that there are 2 varieties in one hot plate. The seasoning of the chicken is too sweet but the chicken is tender. The saba fish is soft and tender but a little salty (due to the taste of the fish itself and the sauce perhaps). There's quite a number of small bones in it too. Overall, it's an average meal. Dont' think I'll be getting it again. continue reading

This stall’s spicy chicken set remains me of that of the concorde food court one. The spicy chicken is marinated perfectly, not too spicy but very tasty. the chicken is sliced into thinly sliced so as to ensure that it get coated perfectly. The meat probably because it is so thinly sliced taste really tender. It goes really well with the sticky Korean rice. their soup is very tasty too, not too salty so it goes well with the strong flavor chicken. It is reasonably priced for the large portion of chicken that they give. continue reading

My daughter and I decided to have our lunch at Kopitham after doing some shopping. We eventually settled on the korean food stall and i ordered the beef soup set which comes with a bowl of rice and the sides of anchovies and kimchi.Although the soup looks quite red, it is really not that spicy. There are some cubes of tofu which I found to be a very nice addition to the soup. There are also the dong fen (thicker than normal singapore dong fen), beef, egg and vegetables. I especially loved the onions and spring onions as it is made very flavourful by the soup. The beef can be more tender, but otherwise, I have really no complains about the beef soup set - the soup goes very well with the rice. If only it is cheaper, I would have it every week. continue reading

packet home dinner at kopitiam from boon lay. This time, i decided to eat the korean cuisine. i bought home the saba set which comes with rice, and bibimpap with chicken. The saba fish was already cooked and they just fried it again when you order for it. The fish tasted quite nice. he bibimpap tasted good too when mixed with the sauce, however, the serving is quite small. continue reading

This stall gives you a choice to mix two different meats in one hotplate, which is great because it allowed me to try both out! It was quite a large sizzling portion. I love the sauce over the dish. I think its a korean sauce. The meat was not tough at all. The fish had its own mackerel flavour and was oily yet yummy. There were some pieces of vegetables (lettuce) at the bottom of the plate but I felt it was too little. The meal came with soup and rice. It was miso soup with some tofu in it. Quite a yummy meal for dinner! continue reading
