As I was very hungry, I did not explore much around Expo looking for good food. My friend and I saw Macau Express and we decided to head in to give it a try. I ordered Chicken baked rice and it was too salty. Furthermore, the chicken given was too little plus the service given was not good. The staff there behaved as though they did not care whether we would dine there in future and was very unfriendly when taking orders. continue reading

Craving for some portugese egg tarts and having the urge to go Macau to grab it? Just visit Macau Express and you be able to save all your times and money for getting the portugese egg tarts. The egg tarts here are crispy and slightly thick crust fill with very smooth egg custard that have been baked their golden brown. At only a dolloar and fifty cent each, no wonder this is one of the best seller in this restaurant as it has meet the budget of most of the consumers. Other delicious Macau cuisines such as the pork chop bun and nissin noodles with luncheon meat and eggs are available in this restaurant too. continue reading

Was at the Singapore Expo for shopping spree and after being a shopping slave, need a break and decides to check out at Macau Express. I've tried their BBQ chicken and egg tarts in JB but never in Singapore. My 1st time, not too bad. The Portuguese egg tarts standard are there. Crispy flaky tarts with smooth custard fillings. The onli thing which pissed me off is the lousy service and dirty glasses used to serve drinks. After i drank some den I realize that there are black dirt in the glass. These kinda glasses needs regular scrubbing especially at the inter section of the handles inside the glass. Lots of dirt are being trap and contaminate the drink which was being serve. i request the lady to change another glass and she revert with ill attitude. Still wanna argue that these are seeds and not dirt. Come on, how on earth would there be seeds in the milk tea?! Lame excuse....Hence i would suggest customers to request for disposal cups instead. continue reading

Went there for lunch with friends. We ordered Pork Chop Bun, Macau Fried Rice, Macau Bake Chicken Chop, Bake 1/2 Cooked Noodle and Egg Tart. When the dish were served, it was so tempting. The chicken chop was fresh and tender. It was piping hot and moisture too. The sauce was goes well with the chicken. The noodle was chewy and not overly cooked. The pork chop bun was not bad too. The bun was quite soft and the chicken was juicy and tender. The 1/2 cooked noodle was cheesy but the noodle was a bit soggy not really cooked well. The fried rice was average. The egg tart was quite good. The egg tart for their egg mixture as its was very smooth and not forgetting their egg tart crust which was very nice and crispy. The drinks was not bad. Overall, the food was average. continue reading

When I walked in to this tiny little eatery, my first impression was COLD. The aircon here is very strong, my concern is the food will turn cold very quick. Anyway.. We have ordered a Portugese egg tart to start with. The crisp skin tastes just like the one I had in Macau before. But the egg filling is more milky taste here. Salted bacalhau golden cake ($5) is not a common dish elsewhere I think. It's basically a ball made from mashed potato with fish meat, and deep-fried to crispy. You can eat it with mayonaise sauce or sweet chilli sauce, both go very well with it. A must try dish here is the Macau seafood baked spaghetti ($12.90), one of the 3 siganture dishes of the restaurant. Almost every table ordered this. Very yummy indeed, the spaghetti is well-cooked, and the Portuge special sauce is just fantastic! Portugese baked half chicken ($10.90) is not bad too. The meat is quite juicy, and I love the gravy! To end the meal, we had the Macau double skin steam milk ($3). Very smooth, and very good for skin too continue reading
