Great news for Japanese food lovers in Singapore – Oishii Japan, an annual showcase of the finest Japanese seasonal produce and prefecture specialties will be returning to Singapore for its 4th edition! Happening from 22 to 24 Oct, this exhibition will be held at Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre – a stone’s throw from that new Japanese concept in Suntec City and much talked about Emporium Shokuhin.

Discover shochu, a low-calorie alternative to whiskey and vodka

Make your way down early and brace yourselves for the 300 exhibitors who will be presenting over 500 new products, premium grade meats, seafood, confectionaries, snacks and desserts for you to sample. This year, Oishii Japan pays homage to shochu, a popular distilled spirit from Japan, typically made from sweet potato and rice or barley koji. Sign up for their workshops and tasting sessions to pick up tips on enjoying this healthier alcoholic beverage that contains just 35 calories. Fun fact: Shochu is 1.5 times more effective than wine in preventing artery blockage!
