Food Tasting: The Naked Fish Shoppe

There was something fishy on OpenRice, and we just had to share it with our lucky OpenRicers. For another OpenRice Food Tasting session, we brought 10 of our members to The Naked Fish Shoppe located in the Grassroots Club at Ang Mo Kio (a few minutes away from Yio Chu Kang MRT station). From the name itself, you can already guess that the restaurant’s specialties are all about seafood. And boy, were they in for a feast! Before all the dishes were served, the members were first welcomed by owner, James Wong, who shared more about his restaurant. After giving the members some food for thought, the feast started!

To start off the food tasting, the OpenRicers had Calamari and soup!

After the deep-fried Calamari Rings, they were served with three varieties of soup: Lobster Bisque, Chicken, and Mushroom soup. Aside from the hearty feeling you get after having these, what was so interesting about these was that they were all served in a bread bowl.

For the main dishes, the OpenRicers were presented with a seafood feast.

The OpenRicers left the restaurant with happy tummies and big smiles on their faces.

To end the food tasting on a good note, James treated the members to three types of desserts – Honey Dew Pudding with Coconut Milk, Caramel Pudding, and Mango Pudding. In the end, everyone had a filling lunch courtesy of OpenRice.
